The Supporter Pack is out

Porthole - Local Port Sharing · published 11 Aug 2026, 07:30 UTC

All newsPlayers around this dateRead on Steam

Hey everyone,

For a while, people have written in asking the same thing. Porthole is free, so is there a way to give something back? Until now the answer was no. The Supporter Pack changes that.

Here is the honest version. The pack locks no features away. Porthole is free today and stays free, every feature, for everyone. What it adds is cosmetic, so your friends can see you support the project.

What you get

Turn each one on or off in Settings. Everyone in your lobby can see it.

  • A supporter badge next to your name.

  • A golden frame around your avatar.

  • Your name in gold.

  • A "supporter since" date. Buy on day one and you wear the earliest date there is.

Porthole runs its traffic over Steam's relay network, which Valve provides free of charge. Steam takes its usual commission on the pack, and we are glad it does. Some of what you spend goes back toward the relays that carry your connection when a direct link cannot, so players behind strict networks can still join.

Thank you

Buy it or not, thank you for using Porthole and bringing your friends along. That is what keeps it going.

Version 1.0 is here, it's free , and you can get it from the store page. A quick refresher on what it does: point Porthole at a game server on your machine and share one short code. Your friend runs Porthole too, enters the code, and reaches the server at a local address on their own machine, just like a LAN game. It runs over Steam's network, so ther…
