Hello, PENANCERS!
We know we've been a bit quiet lately, but that's because we've been hard at work, running internal feedback and QA sessions almost every week.
We're getting closer to our next major milestone: launching a public playtest. Soon, everyone will have the opportunity to test the game and help us shape it further, rather than keeping testing limited to our internal team.
Over the past months, we've conducted countless internal testing sessions, gathering feedback, fixing issues, and refining core gameplay systems. Here's a look at what we've improved so far:
Improved both human and zombie enemy AI (detection + cover system),
Human enemies hide in cover and shoot,
3 human enemy states: Patrol, Inspect (yellow), Engage (red),
Human enemies move to sound locations and check last known position,
Human enemies predict player movement when searching,
Human enemies call reinforcements and take cover in combat,
Human enemies search last known position when player escapes,
Added stealth executions for different weapons,
Unique stealth animations for each weapon,
Melee weapons now have durability and can break,
Melee has lock-on and free swing modes,
Added new zombie types (all react to sound),
Zombies with different speeds,
Blind zombies rely on hearing,
Screamer zombies alert others,
More zombie types coming,
Switched to baked lighting for better performance,
Performance improved significantly (~50%)
Thank you all for your patience and continued support. We're excited to get the next build into your hands soon and hear your thoughts.
Stay tuned!
