Devlog #7: The Vegetable Trio is Complete!

Hey everyone!

Our trio is finally complete! The eggplant has officially joined the cucumber and the carrot. The carrot is a big, slow, and strong heavyweight; the cucumber is our middleweight fighter; and the eggplant is fast and relies on numbers. For the demo, the only thing left to make is the Spider-Onion boss. Once that’s done, we can debug all the core combat mechanics and balance how they interact with each other. There is still a lot of work ahead, but we are slowly and steadily moving forward. After we finish the combat system, we’ll move on to quests, and then start assembling the final levels.

Here is the full list of our weekly achievements:

  • Designed and modeled the eggplant.

  • Set up the eggplant's animations.

  • Migrated to a new, more stable version of Unity.

  • Laid down the basics for our combat balance.

  • Finished and published a dark symphonic metal space opera on YouTube (it has absolutely nothing to do with the game, but we are really proud of it and just wanted to show off a bit!).

Next week, we’ll continue integrating the eggplant into our world, and we'll also try to hook up Xbox controller support.

Thanks for reading our blog, and have a great weekend!

— Luke and Robert

Community16 Oct 2026Devlog #8: Breaking Up Vegetable FightsHey everyone! Have you ever tried to break up a crowd of brawling mutant vegetables? Do you know what’s even harder? The hardest part isn't breaking up the fight, it’s explaining the rules to them. Who hits who, from what distance, with what timing... ugh. Each character has a ton of settings and animations. We take turns inviting the fighters to our little training island, set up sparring matc…Community2 Oct 2026Devlog #6: Zero Polygons, Toxic Swamps, and a Spider-OnionHey everyone! To be honest, our schedules completely blocked us from working on the game this week. As you know, we are making this story about rabbits trapped in a world of crazy vegetables in our free time, running purely on passion and zero funding. We strongly believe in our project, but juggling it with the daily grind can be really tough sometimes. It’s a bummer because working on this ga…Community25 Sep 2026Devlog #5: Farm Concepts and Vegetable Fight ClubsHey everyone! This week, we focused on environment concepts. We sketched out a few models in Blender and tried to imagine what a peaceful farm might look like before being overrun by mutant vegetables. By the way, being a mutant doesn't mean being stupid. Sure, our cucumbers probably won’t beat you at chess, but they are more than capable of adapting the farm to fit their needs! Here is the ful…
