Cindervale Idle v0.9.124

Ranged, Fletching, and a new Mastery column

Two new skills, plus two fixes from last patch that did not work.

FIXES FROM LAST PATCH

  • The farmhand still would not plant. Plant All was fixed, but the
farmhand was not. If you picked a specific seed for him he planted nothing.
Auto mode worked. Fixed, and the Journeyman Farmer replants again too.
  • The consort upgrade took your materials and did nothing. The
purchase went through, the materials were spent, and the upgrade was undone
next time you loaded the game. Fixed properly.

If you lost materials to the consort bug, file a bug report in game and
they will be sent back to you.
There is no way to spot an affected save
automatically, so it has to be done by hand.

The dev can send you items now. A reply to your bug report can arrive
with materials attached.

RANGED COMBAT

  • Bows and crossbows. Bows are fast. Crossbows are slow and hit
harder, and you can hold a shield with one.
  • Ammunition matters. Arrows and bolts carry their own strength, so
part of your damage comes from what you are firing. Eight tiers of each.
  • Ranged uses one stat where melee uses two, so it gives more per
level to keep the two even.
  • Heavy armour cuts your ranged damage. Leather does not. A
crossbow's shield does not count against you.
  • A quiver slot on the gear menu and in the combat gear row.
  • Three combat styles when a bow is equipped, replacing Attack,
    Strength and Defence:

FLETCHING

The supply chain for ranged. It uses three other skills.

  • Shafts from any log. Better logs give more per log.
  • Bowstring from flax, new to Farming and Foraging.
  • Feathers drop from stags, lynxes, wolves, leopards and hares, and
    come out of bird's nests.
  • Arrowheads and bolt tips are made in Smithing.
  • Arrows need a shaft, a feather and a head. Bolts skip the
    feather but use more metal.
  • Bows and crossbows are built first, then strung.

Ten monsters drop ammunition. Anything with a bow drops arrows, and
armoured knights drop bolts. The tier matches the monster's level.

MARKSMAN

A fourth Mastery column beside Onslaught, Bulwark and Warfare.

  • 11 nodes, 30 points, same as the other columns. Draw Weight,
Fletcher's Thrift, Bodkin Points, Quick Nock, Heavy Draw, Point Blank,
Volley, Pinning Shot, Quiver Master and the Deadeye capstone.
  • The board is a grid now. Discipline across the top, tier down the
    side.
  • 132 points across 50 nodes, up from 98 across 37.
  • Combat level counts Ranged. Existing characters are unchanged.
  • Every node description rewritten to be shorter and clearer.

OTHER FIXES

  • Four shop rings could not go on your left hand. Ring of Plenty,
Delver, Tide and Grove. Only the Ember Ring worked in both hands.
  • The second woodcutting bar gave no guild quest credit. Logs cut on
it did not count toward a quest.
  • Phantom Worker gave three skills instead of four. Nothing made you
buy Third Thread first. Three Offline nodes now need the node below them.
  • Grandmaster tooltips in the Offline tree were cut off, and the
fourth one could not be seen at all.
  • Resizing the window scaled the whole interface up with it. It
still shrinks to fit a small window, but no longer grows past normal size.
The Interface scale slider still works if you want it bigger.
  • Fixed an issue with GM tooltips running off the page.
  • Fixed an issue with the woodcutting second action not counting towards a guild quest.

QUALITY OF LIFE

  • Lock food so auto-eat cannot use it. Every food has a padlock. You
can still eat it yourself. Asked for by a player whose auto-eat ate the food
he had cooked for a guild delivery.
  • Keep the catch raw. A switch on the Fishing panel that turns off
Seasoned Catch, for when a quest wants raw fish. No respec needed.

COMING NEXT

  • Enchanted bolts with special effects
  • Bow and crossbow drops from monsters
  • A raid rework

I really appreciate everyones support for the game and thank you for everyone that has enjoyed it. These patches will come with some bugs that I can't find on my own sometimes. So please feel free to leave any and all feedback and reports through the in-game menu! I see them all and they truly help out a lot.
