Greetings Divers!

Today is the day Heavy Metal Death Can launches on Mac and Linux!

This is a big moment for us as we want our games to be available on as many platforms as we reasonably can and expanding to the main three PC OS's is a big step towards that goal.

And the experience is really good! We developed the game 50/50 on Desktops using Windows and laptops using MacOS and Linux so we knew the content would present as expected but it’s really gratifying to have proper apps now!

Known issues:

  • We had trouble getting UI navigation to function smoothly on Mac so we’ve limited UI navigation to the D-Pad for that version.

  • Switch style controllers can show the wrong button prompts. This is because Steam input will trick the game that it's using XBOX A (South) while the controller is actually using Nintendo A which is East. This can be remedied in the controller settings in Steam.

  • Controllers won't respond if the game thinks it isn't "player 1". Sometimes this requires a restart or a reconnect of the controller.

If you experience any issues with any versions of the game please report it on the Steam forums or the bug forums on the official Discord server.

We’re gonna go on summer vacation for a few weeks now so I might not be as active on the forums and Discord as usually. I’ll monitor our channels daily but if I’m on a SUP in the middle of a river it might take a few hours before I’ll get back to you!

Happy summer everyone, thank you for coming on this journey with us!

Skål!

/Toby
