Hello Survivors.

You wake on a corrupted Isle, alone, with no memory of how you arrived. Or almost alone. Today we're introducing the entity waiting beside you when you open your eyes, and the story that begins when you accept his help.

The Herald

Something floats above you. Part magic, part mechanism, completely alien. He calls out to you and introduces himself as a Herald of Illuminon, a name you recognize. The goddess who watches over the earth, and over the tomb you now stand upon.

He senses something wrong with the Isle. He asks for your aid. Join his investigation, or walk your own road. The Isle won't care which you choose.

Aiding the Investigation

His first task is small. Gather samples of what grows along the coast. Standard reconnaissance, the kind of work every investigation needs before it has a shape.

But you can't ignore what you see while you collect. The fauna here doesn't grow. It twists. Plants bend in ways plants shouldn't. The samples you carry back are wrong in ways you can't name.

You summon him with the tablet you woke holding. He examines what you've brought. Even with celestial power running through him, he hesitates.

Something is very wrong with this place. And there is no way off it.

Pressing Forward

You and the Herald reach the same conclusion. Something has to be done. Neither of you knows what.

The Herald has some ideas though. So continue to work with him, find the clues, and put together the story of the Isle before you become just a footnote in its history, or worse yet one of the many unmarked gravestones...

This week we're rolling out the Community Board: a single stop for NPC quests, player bounties, and mob bounties. We've reworked how rewards flow through the system, and given NPCs the sense to be afraid when the Isle turns hostile. The Community Board The NPCs on the Lost Isle have always needed a bit of help here and there. Motes are the essence of life; the fifth element that alchemists on the mainland have chased for centuries. Every living thing carries them, and when a life ends, they linger. This week we cover changes to how you gather them, and a new way to spend them. Relic Reduction Relics used to be a dime a dozen. That has changed. We've lowered their drop rate and cut the total number o…
