Dear Tormentis Players,
Over the past few days, we've primarily focused on making adjustments to significantly improve the player experience on the journey to level 50. The new update, V0.8.5, includes further controller and Steam Deck support, as well as a rebranding with a redesigned logo and new graphics.
With the help and feedback from new players, we've been able to improve the player experience on the way to level 50. Previously, it was nearly impossible to keep your castle defenses at the player's level.
The costs for improving defenses have now been tiered to better suit the player's experience. Players up to levels 25-30 can now relatively easily upgrade their defenses to match their level. Only after that point does resource management become more challenging.
We hope this will provide you with a much more enjoyable player experience, without the feeling of falling behind.
We've specifically revised the chance of receiving more loot. Instead of simply using odds, which become rather insignificant with a certain number of monsters in a castle, the chance of more loot is now clearly defined by a maximum number of bags that can be looted. This number can be increased by stars in campaign levels and is determined in all other game modes by the effective level of the active defense compared to the player's level.
The regular amount of loot is 8 bags and can be doubled (to 200%). Of course, monsters still have a chance to drop loot.
Campaign levels now grant 125% of the maximum loot with one star, 150% with two stars, and 200% with three stars.
It occasionally happens that a low-level monster appears even in high-level castles. However, if this very monster then drops the legendary item, it is very frustrating and also looks somewhat buggy. We've received feedback on this issue quite a bit, and in this version, we've finally been able to implement a meaningful change that feels right.
The new calculation uses the player's level and the effective level of the castle being played as key metrics.
If the effective castle level is lower than the hero level, items up to +15 levels will drop.
Example 1: Hero Level 50, Castle Level 10 = Loot Level 25
Example 2: Hero Level 25, Castle Level 20 = Loot Level 25
If the hero level is lower than the effective castle level, items up to +4 levels will drop.
Example 3: Hero Level 10, Castle Level 12 = Loot Level 10 (frequent) to Level 12 (rare)
Example 4: Hero Level 10, Castle Level 18 = Loot Level 10 (frequent) to Level 14 (very rare)
We will gradually replace some graphics and logos with revised versions. Now that we are getting closer to the release, this should also be visually apparent. Do you like the new Tormentis logo?
Unfortunately, during the conversion to controller and Steam Deck support, a small problem occurred that caused the interface to malfunction. This has also been fixed in this update.
Enjoy the new version!
