Good morning!
And it’s a pretty good morning, because last night I finished the tweaks and bug fixes needed to get the game running properly on Steam Deck. There’s now a dedicated default graphics preset for it, and I’ve been getting a smooth 50 to 60 FPS in my tests. :)
The biggest headache? Video playback.
The MP4 videos used in the game initially refused to play on Steam Deck because of recurring codec errors. Luckily, I’m far from the first developer to run into this, so a few internet searches pointed me towards a solution. Always grateful when someone else has already fought the same battle.
I also started the application process and some initial preparations for a possible Xbox release yesterday. Let’s see where that goes. :)
Today’s plan:
More thorough testing on Steam Deck.
That’s the whole list today!
I’m feeling a little worn out. Between development and all the marketing work, the last few days have taken quite a bit out of me. So today, I’m taking a small step back from Unity and spending some time actually playing and testing the game. <3
Have a lovely weekend, everyone!
