Hey everyone!
HELLBREAK is part of Tiny Teams 2026, a festival celebrating games built by very small teams. As a two-person team, being included means a lot to us. From August 6th to August 13th, HELLBREAK is 40% OFF, matching the lowest price it has ever been, back at our 1.0 launch. And we're not showing up empty handed. A new update lands alongside the festival, bringing a new Lord of Hell, a new weapon, a new perk, and a pass over offensive spells.
Your slaughter has drawn another set of eyes. Azaelith has taken notice of you. He arrives with his first 2 missions and 2 rewards to claim with more still to come.
Leash is a magic staff that tethers to multiple enemies at once, damaging all of them at the same time. Its upgrades let you cast your spells more often, making it an excellent AoE tool for tearing through hordes fast. It is not as strong against single targets, so bring a second weapon that can handle bosses.
Unlock Revival and you'll get a second chance every trial.
It also stacks with its blessing version, so there is room to build around it.
A new achievement has been added for fully upgrading Leash.
We noticed that on higher difficulties especially, offensive spells were falling short compared to defensive ones. So we've increased the overall damage of most offensive spells.
Zephyr — Base damage increased
Hex — Base damage increased
Cinderheart — Base damage increased
Watcher — Base damage increased
Stormheart — Base damage increased
Bloodspire — Base damage increased
Shellshock — Base damage reduced
Fixed multiple bugs regarding blessings.
Fixed multiple minor bugs related to AI decision making and pathfinding.
Improved an issue where Splinter and Scorchjaw could have their maximum ammo
reduced during a trial.
We can't fully confirm the ammo issue is resolved yet, so if you run into it, please let us know.
Multiple performance improvements related to enemies, textures, and VFX. These mostly improve stability rather than raw framerate, so you should notice fewer spikes and smoother moments during heavy fights.
We're not done with HELLBREAK. Another content update is coming later this year with a new spell and a new weapon, alongside continued fixes and balance passes. As the name of the event suggests though, we are a tiny team, updates will take longer to arrive than they did during Early Access. Fewer of them, but we'll try to keep them worth the wait. Game-breaking issues will always jump to the front of the queue, so please keep reporting anything you run into. Thank you for your patience while we keep building.
Thank you again for all the support since launch. Seeing you all competing on the leaderboards, sharing feedback, and reporting issues keeps us going. As a two-person team, being part of Tiny Teams alongside so many other small developers is something we're genuinely proud of. If you're picking HELLBREAK up during the festival, welcome to Hell. And if you've already been fighting through it, please consider leaving a review, it helps more than you can imagine.
See you in the arena,
HELLBREAK Team
