Controller

🌱 Picking up, dropping, swapping and pausing did nothing on a controller. This is the real answer to "controller still isn't working". Movement, looking, jumping, crouching and the abilities were all wired up — but the five actions behind X, Left Trigger, LB/RB and Start were never actually connected to anything. So you could walk around the shop and jump, and that was it: you couldn't pick a single item up, couldn't put one down, couldn't flick through what you were carrying, and couldn't open the pause menu. Every one of those is now connected. Last patch fixed the menus; this one fixes the game.

🌱 The upgrade PC and the Catalogue are now usable on a controller. Both would open happily and then ignore you completely, because they were waiting on a mouse pointer. They now take controller focus like every other screen.

🌱 Catalogue on a pad: D-pad left/right turns the pages, B closes the book. Pressing left and right no longer sets off your abilities while you're reading.

🌱 The shelf prompt now tells controller players to use Left Trigger instead of telling everyone to right-click.

Audio

🌱 Turning SFX down didn't quieten footsteps. They were the one looping sound that started and stopped, and the volume change was only ever applied to sounds that were already playing — so if you were standing still when you moved the slider (which you always are, since the menu pauses the game), footsteps carried on at full volume forever after. Footsteps now follow the SFX slider properly, including all the way down to silent. Music and SFX are, and always were, separate sliders — this bug just made it look like they weren't.

Aiming at shelves

🌱 "I have to click twice or shuffle about to hit the right spot." Found it. When your crosshair was slightly off a segment and instead caught the shelf frame, a wall or the floor, the game latched onto that as your target — so your press did nothing at all, with no feedback to tell you why. It now ignores anything you can't actually interact with, so a near miss falls through cleanly instead of eating your input. The aim assist around the crosshair has also been widened considerably, so being slightly off no longer costs you the shelf.

Steam Deck and small screens

🌱 The Catalogue's category tab rail and the Sound Box window were running off the right-hand edge of the screen at 1280×800. Both now sit correctly on 16:10 displays. Nothing changes on a 1920×1080 monitor.

Game update13 Sep 2026Big Bad Pharma V1.1.6 patch notesThis one started with me sitting down and reading every thread on the discussions board in one go, then going through the game's code looking for the causes rather than the symptoms. Six separate threads were about the same thing, one achievement I thought I had fixed was still not unlocking, and a couple of you had found problems I would never have spotted on my own machine. Thank you for all…Game update30 Aug 2026Big Bad Pharma V1.1.5 patch notesA few of you sent in reports that turned out to be much more useful than you probably realised, one comment about an achievement that "never triggers" and one very patient write-up about being told you were a single item short led me straight to two bugs that had been sitting there since long before V1.1.0. Thank you for those. 🌱 "You did it raw, dawg" now actually unlocks. This was properly b…Game update19 Aug 2026Big Bad Pharma V1.1.4 patch notes🌱 No more 1/1 shelves. The two halves of the rule now live together properly. While a product still has unshelved stock, a fresh segment sizes itself to exactly what remains — that is V1.1.2's fix and it stays (27 Pedibree Minis still fill a 15-slot shelf, then a 12). But once a product's stock is fully spoken for elsewhere, an extra segment now claims the shelf's full natural capacity again,…
