Dev Diary #46: Patch #10 Preview

With last week's Construct Update 1, we added a decent chunk of new content, and we are very happy with the reception so far! Of course, that was only the start of the Construct updates, and there is more to come: More operations, enemies, blueprints, and so on!The next patch will be a smaller one, it's patch #10, but it will, besides fixes and balancing, bring some new things, so let’s take a look at what to expect when it drops.

Estimated Release Date for Patch #10: 21st of May 2026

Battle Tank and Heavy Tank Comeback

The time has come for a fan favorite, the Rogue Army Heavy Tank, to be available to the player again! It took some time as we had to create a marine skin for it, but more importantly, adjust the model to work with the modular vehicle system. As it will be one of the few vehicles with a fixed main gun, it poses some unique challenges, but it's now working. You will be able to freely swap the light weapon on top, but the main gun will always stay:Heavy TankWe also have something completely new: The Battle Tank. You can read up on it in this dev diary:
It is a fully customizable heavy vehicle sporting a heavy weapon slot in the main turret and a light weapon slot on top. In this way, it has a unique setup, as it is among the few vehicles that can carry both a heavy and a light weapon at the same time. The only exception being the carrier with the heavy mortar. It is a little bit less durable than the heavy tank, but way more flexible and faster as well:Battle Tank

Light Weapons in Medium Vehicle Slots

With the next patch, you will be able to slot any light vehicle weapon into either a light weapon slot or a medium weapon slot. This vastly increases vehicle equipping flexibility, especially in the early game, but also for underused vehicles like the pirate truck, ATV, or light walker. In the early game, getting access to medium vehicle weapons can be tricky and could easily lead to a situation where players could not field a vehicle, as they had no fitting weapon. Here are some examples of light weapons on these vehicles:Light Weapons on Pirate TrucksLight MG on ATVFor the light walker, we added a new weapon housing that works on the chassis for all the light weapons:Light Walker with Light WeaponsThe Medium Walker now also has some more variants, as the light weapons can be slotted into either weapon slot. This can also be used to twin-link light weapons. These also come with their own twin-fire skills:Medium Walker with Light Weapons

Sentry Turret Models

As part of the big OCI rework, we are heavily working on, we created new models for the automated sentry turrets. Currently, only the auto laser turret is in the game, but here is a little spoiler previewing some of the new variants you will be able to deploy after the OCI rework:

New Weapon Models

Each patch will come with new 3D weapon models, and patch #10 is no exception. Until the patch goes live, we will probably have at least two more models ready, but the CTD Gun and the Infantry Automatic Rifle are already ready and implemented:

Fixes, Improvements and Balancing

The patch will, of course, contain lots of bug fixes, but also minor improvements and balancing changes. The full changelog will show you all of these once the patch notes go live!
