Two new packs today: The Guide, and Swahili Core

Both are live now, and both open at 40% off.

The Guide

The rules a game master needs in their head, as flashcards. 1,205 cards in 62 clusters across five tiers, a scene at the table on every card and a boss fight at every gate. 5E compatible, built from the System Reference Document 5.2 — the 2024 revision of the rules — and every card cites the page it comes from, with the reference document itself shipping inside the pack.

Every card is one thing a game master should know cold. Each card gives you the term, a scene of that rule happening at a table, the definition you are drilled on, the rule as you would say it out loud, and the numbers underneath.

Sixty-two lessons, one waiting at the head of every cluster. The fifteen conditions, the thirteen damage types, the ability and proficiency tables, challenge rating and XP.

Full editions also in German, Spanish, Japanese, Simplified Chinese and Russian, with a mixed format for each.

Launch price: 40% off for two weeks.

Swahili Core

1,000 words in 40 clusters across five tiers, with 20 lessons on the grammar you meet along the way — noun classes, verb chains, the things a phrasebook never explains. Card text in English, German, Spanish, Japanese, Simplified Chinese or Russian, your choice at the first launch.

Launch price: 40% off for three weeks.

Bug hunting

In the last week of changes, we found a session bug that would not pull enough new cards to populate a streak. Saving robustness fixes between machines seem fine. There are some pages with formatting imperfections. My apologies. I find them as fast as I fix them. Please report them to https://odiin2024.github.io/flashboss-site/report.html

The signed Windows build is still not out. The first certificate application stalled on paperwork with no way to answer it, so I am pursuing a second route in parallel: an individual-validation certificate through a second certificate authority. The Windows 11 warning for machines with Smart App Control switched on stands until that lands, and I will post here the day it does. Windows 10, and Windows 11 without Smart App Control, are unaffected, as are Linux and macOS systems.

Thank you for playing. The full card lists and every lesson for every pack are currently lagging on the website, but will be up shortly.
