We’re developing Wreckreation 2 in public, running regular playtests and using what we learn from them to improve the game.A few weeks ago, we closed our first playtest while we worked on some of the things players had been telling us about.Today, we’re opening it again. There’s a completely new Industrial area, built around narrower roads, alleyways and shortcuts. And building all those shortcuts meant teaching the AI how to use them too. Rival cars can now spot shortcuts and decide to take them, so they won’t always follow the same route as you. We’ve also been working on car-to-car physics, handling, drifting, stability and jump landings, and we’ve added a new car: the Mitani Kumo, a smaller, nippier car that feels very different on these tighter routes. There’s still plenty more we want to work on, particularly around making every race feel like a battle. But now it’s time to get the game back into more players’ hands.

We think we’ve made it better. Now we get to find out if players agree.Access to the playtest will be opened in waves. Get your place on the waiting list now through the Wreckreation 2 Steam page.
