What if we looked at the same road from a different door?

Hey Gas Jockeys!

When we were working on Gas Station Simulator, we spent a lot of time thinking about Route 66. Not just what it should look like, but what it should feel like. We wanted that feeling of being somewhere in the middle of nowhere, where the road seems endless and the next car could bring absolutely anyone to your doorstep.
That's part of what made the gas station so much fun to build. It's a small place, but the world keeps coming to it. Travelers stop for fuel, grab something to eat, look around the store, and then disappear back onto the road.

After spending so much time with that idea, we started wondering about the other places along Route 66. What happens behind the next door? Who stops there? And what kind of problems do they bring with them?
A roadhouse turned out to be a pretty good answer.

At first glance, there's not much that connects a gas station and a roadhouse. One has pumps, the other has a bar. One is busy during the day, the other really comes alive at night.
But the more we looked at them, the more familiar they started to feel.
Both are places where people on the road come together. Both depend on keeping customers happy. Both have supplies to manage, money to make, equipment to maintain and both have a tendency to become much more chaotic than you planned.
The difference is mostly in the kind of trouble you have to deal with.

In Gas Station Simulator, you might spend your day cleaning up after customers, fixing equipment, or trying to keep the shelves stocked.
In Roadhouse Simulator, you might have to worry about what happens when the customers themselves become the problem.
In Gas Station Simulator, we gave you one little piece of Route 66 to take care of.
Roadhouse Simulator lets us look at that same road from another perspective.
Same road.
Different problems.

Community11 Sep 2026Why we went back in time?Hey Gas Jockeys! As you probably know from our devlog “How Shady Deals Became Roadhouse Simulator” , when we started working on Shady Deals , we intended it to be another major DLC for Gas Station Simulator. T he pub was meant to be another part of the petrol station, with Uncle introducing the player to the more dubious side of the business. Once we decided to make it a full-fledged game, anot…Community28 Aug 2026Some friendships just make sense 💚🤎Hey Gas Jockeys! What do a crocodile and a capybara have in common? Apparently, more than you'd think. In the wild, capybaras and crocodilians can often be found sharing the same environment without constantly turning it into a fight. They simply coexist sometimes getting surprisingly close to one another. You've already met the crocodile Gustave in Gas Station Simulator . And now, at Caldora A…Community13 Aug 2026How Shady Deals became Roadhouse SimulatorHey Gas Jockeys! TLDR: we cancelled the Shady Deals DLC and built Roadhouse Simulator instead. The long version is below, and the Demo is out today. Check Our Demo of Roadhouse Simulator : We killed it after a milestone review In September 2024 we released the Car Junkyard DLC for Gas Station Simulator. It went well, and it also set a new quality bar for us that nobody had planned to set. Aroun…
