Crisis Cabinet Early Access Roadmap

Crisis Cabinet launches into Steam Early Access in late August 2026.

This is where the real political pressure begins.

Early Access will give players the core Crisis Cabinet experience: taking power, making difficult decisions, managing national pressure, and trying to survive long enough to face the consequences of your own government.

We are launching with the foundations in place, then expanding the game with new events, balance updates, visual story moments, and community feedback.

What to Expect at Early Access Launch

At launch, Crisis Cabinet will focus on the main political survival loop.

Players will be able to guide a government through rising pressure, national problems, public anger, budget choices, political trade-offs, and election risk.

The Early Access version is planned to include:

  • The core government survival structure.

  • A four-term political campaign format.

  • Policy and budget decisions with national consequences.

  • Public support, unrest, stability, and election pressure.

  • Crisis events that force difficult choices.

  • War room-style emergency decision moments.

  • Cabinet and political pressure systems.

  • A growing set of still-image story scenes to give key moments more atmosphere.

  • Early balancing, bug fixing, and player-led iteration.

The new visual scenes are still images, not animations or cutscenes. They are designed to give the game more weight and atmosphere: moments of unrest, emergency, pressure, collapse, and consequence.

Crisis Cabinet is not about watching politics from a distance. It is about being trapped inside the decision room when everything starts going wrong.

First 3 Months After Launch

The first phase after Early Access will focus on improving the core game based on player feedback.

Our current priorities are:

  • More crisis events.

  • More political dilemmas.

  • Better balancing across popularity, unrest, budgets, elections, and national stability.

  • Clearer feedback when decisions affect the country.

  • More visual story moments.

  • UI and quality-of-life improvements.

  • More variation between playthroughs.

  • Fixes and improvements based on community reports.

This phase will be heavily shaped by players. We want to know which decisions feel tense, which systems need more explanation, and where the game needs more depth.

3–6 Months After Launch

Once the core systems have been tested publicly, the next stage is about adding more variety and deeper pressure.

Planned areas include:

  • Additional scenarios and starting conditions.

  • More dramatic national events.

  • Expanded cabinet pressure.

  • Stronger links between public opinion, unrest, economic choices, and election outcomes.

  • More late-game pressure for governments that survive for longer.

  • Deeper crisis chains where earlier decisions can return later.

  • Continued balance changes and usability improvements.

The goal is to make each run feel less predictable and more reactive.

A government that ignores warning signs should feel different from one that acts early. A leader who survives one crisis may only be creating the next one.

Longer-Term Plans

Beyond the first six months, our focus will be on turning Crisis Cabinet into a fuller political strategy experience.

The longer-term roadmap includes:

  • More political outcomes.

  • More national crisis chains.

  • Expanded consequences across multiple terms.

  • More immersive still-image storytelling.

  • Deeper national statistics and reporting.

  • Improved menus, decision screens, and end-of-term feedback.

  • More community-led balancing and quality-of-life improvements.

  • Continued preparation for the full release version.

These plans may change as Early Access develops. Player feedback will influence what we prioritise, what we expand, and what needs reworking.

Community Feedback

Early Access is important because Crisis Cabinet is a game about pressure, consequence, and difficult choices. Those systems need real players pushing against them.

We will be especially interested in feedback on:

  • Which crisis events feel strongest.

  • Which decisions feel too easy or too punishing.

  • Which systems need clearer explanation.

  • What players want more of: elections, unrest, cabinet drama, emergencies, media pressure, war room decisions, or national collapse.

  • How different each playthrough feels.

Crisis Cabinet launches into Steam Early Access in late August 2026.

Wishlist the game, follow the page, and join us as we build the political pressure cooker.
