Hi everyone! Following up on the procedural mines update, v0.8.1 is ready. This patch brings a beautifully redesigned seed shop, a rebalance to digging and chest loots, and some highly requested improvements to the map and gamepad controls. Here is what is new!
The New Seed Vendor Shop
I have completely replaced the old vendor menu with a brand new dedicated Seed Vendor shop.
The shop now features a detailed side panel that shows what crop each seed grows into and which seasons it can be planted in.
You can now easily filter the store to only show seeds that are plantable in the current season.
The UI is much more responsive with visual pop-outs and smooth scrolling.
Digging, Chests & Economy Rebalance
Digging now drops a varied pile of crafting materials like stone, wood and fiber, along with occasional small seed bundles instead of dropping predetermined loot.
Treasure chests now have dynamic reward tiers so every chest roll feels like a surprise.
Loot dug from the ground will now stay visible for a brief moment before being collected so you can actually see what you found.
Digging payouts and seed drop rates have been slightly reduced to better fit the overall game economy.
Map & Quest Journal Upgrades
Mission markers on the map now point directly to your actual mission target instead of getting confused when you or the target are inside a subworld.
Fixed an issue that drew player position off the edge on the map when you are exploring a subworld like the mines.
Zooming the map on a gamepad is now mapped to the analog triggers for smooth and continuous zooming.
The Quest Journal navigation has been smoothed out, and your pinned quest will now automatically hand off to the next one as soon as you complete it.
You can now pin quests in your journal or toggle the season filter in the seed shop when using a gamepad.
Settings & Bug Fixes
Added VSync and FPS Limit options to the Display settings.
Fixed a major bug where opening the map screen after interacting with a chest could permanently freeze the game.
Fixed an issue where pressing the drop button when a UI is open would unintentionally drop items in the background.
Fixed a quest logic bug where completing multiple quests at the exact same time could cause them to cancel each other out.
Fixed an issue where journal entries always remain unread even if player reads them.
UI menus and animations will no longer get stuck if the game pauses mid-transition.
Thank you for playing the demo and continuously sharing your valuable feedback.
Cheers,
