THE FORGE ACCEPTS THE PIECE YOU ARE WEARING. No more taking the boot off your hero to merge two boots: put both on the anvil and the Forge removes it for you, at the moment of merging. Setting up the table and walking away changes nothing. The result comes back equipped on the same hero; if they cannot use the new piece (the extra rarity step usually asks for more level), it waits in the chest and the game tells you which hero was left with an empty slot.
THE FORGE'S FIRST PICK ONLY SHOWS WHAT HAS A MATCH. With a full chest, finding the two identical pieces was a treasure hunt: the list offered almost everything and the missing match only showed up in the second column. Now the first column already hides whatever has nothing to pair with.
THE PARTY GUIDE WAITS UNTIL SOMEONE IS AROUND. It used to show up for people alone on the server, teaching how to invite with nobody to invite. It now appears only when someone of a similar level is next to you, and teaches the gesture that does it: right-click the player.
THE GUIDE IS NOW AN OBJECTIVE LIST IN THE CORNER. No more window asking for permission mid-game: what to do sits under the minimap, with a checkbox per objective that ticks itself when you actually do the thing. Finish the list and it disappears. The guide also stops opening the chapter screen at the end, and the Esc key is no longer its own while the list is in the corner: it belongs to whatever you opened last.
THE GUIDES GOT MUCH SHORTER. First steps now teach only two things: pick your hero among the three in the square, and step into the portal. Gear is open the collection and wear it; the shop is go there and spend; the forge is pick the two pieces; the mail is collect it. The combat and menu chapters are gone, and the card one became a single notice: a card only lasts that match.
THE GUIDE SAYS GOODBYE WHEN IT HAS NOTHING LEFT TO TEACH. Once the subjects it offers on its own are done, a last message shows up and it gets out of the way. The chapters stay in the menu for whenever you want them.
LOOT SHOWS COINS, ON A SINGLE LINE. What used to read "37x gold" now shows the gold, silver and copper icons, and every coin from the match adds up into one line per player instead of flooding the list with dozens of 1s and 2s.
THE GUIDE STARTS OVER FOR EVERYONE. The chapters changed so much that anything marked as seen was about a guide that no longer exists, so that progress was cleared for everybody. Anyone who had switched hints off stays off.
Fixes
THE CAMERA NO LONGER ABANDONS WHAT IT WAS SHOWING. When the guide pointed at a place in town, any touch on the movement keys cut the tour off in the same frame: anyone walking never got to see the destination. It now goes, shows and comes back on its own.
THE GUIDE BOX SLID OFF SCREEN MID-CHAPTER. A step with longer text pushed the footer out of view, and on the first step everything looked fine.
THE NEVER-USED ABILITY RING KEPT COMING BACK. The list of abilities you had already used was wiped every time the game started, so the hint began again from scratch each session.
