Known Windows 11 Issue – Error 0x11C7
Some Windows 11 systems with Smart App Control enabled may prevent the application from starting and display error 0x11C7.
This is a Windows application-control restriction rather than a Steam permission issue. Running Steam or the application as administrator usually does not resolve it.
Temporary Workaround
If you encounter error 0x11C7, you may temporarily resolve it by following these steps:
Open Windows Settings.
Select Privacy & security.
Open Windows Security.
Select App & browser control.
Open Smart App Control settings.
Set Smart App Control to Off.
Restart your computer and launch the application again.
Important: Smart App Control is a system-wide Windows security feature. Disabling it reduces protection for other applications as well. Please use this workaround only if you understand and accept the security implications. Windows currently does not provide a per-application exception for Smart App Control.
