Unlock Gadgets — 10 new survival tools
You can't kill the things down here — so now you can deal with them. Ten deployable gadgets, each non-lethal (everything comes back):
• Trip Laser — disintegrates whatever crosses the beam, then it reforms
• Shock Mine — a concussive blast that launches enemies away
• Overload Charge — an EMP that warps them across the floor
• Quiet Field — a bubble that makes them go dormant
• Decoy Beacon, Pulse Lantern, Echo Pinger, Ward Powder, Door Brace, Adrenaline Stim
(Playtest: all gadgets are available from the start — no need to clear runs yet.)

Lucid Shard Workshop — permanent progression
Lucid Shards are now a banked currency. Collect them while exploring, then spend them at the new workbench in safe rooms on permanent upgrades: higher sanity ceiling, more health, more stamina, starting supplies, a starting gadget, extra skill points, and cheaper shrine deals. Every upgrade carries across runs — so even a run that ends leaves you stronger.

(It still slows you down, and more as the water rises.) • Water ripples: the player and enemies now leave soft ripples spreading across the surface as they move through a flood. • The Haze's drone…Game update27 Sep 2026Fairer solo runs + The Haze gets a voice• Solo is fairer: you no longer bleed out when playing alone. Hits still hurt, but there's no slow drain with no teammate around to patch you up. (Co-op still bleeds — keep those bandages handy.) • Your VITALS heart now flashes red while you're bleeding, so you know to bandage up fast. • The Haze has found its voice — a low, drifting drone as it stalks you and a heavy bass hit when it strikes —…Game update27 Sep 2026The Haze Update — new enemy, your AI handler & themed floors• New enemy — The Haze: a churning storm-cloud that stalks you on smoke tendrils and crackles with its own lightning. Three attacks — a close engulf, a choking cloud that drains your mind, and a committed smoke-surge lunge from across the room. • Meet ECHO, your AI handler: a voice on your comms that talks you through the descent and gets less reassuring as your sanity frays. • New themed floor…
