Hey guys!
I’m finishing the second scene in the parlor and getting ready to move on to the office one, which means I can finally show you some actual in-game sneak peeks!
Development went pretty smoothly last week. Having a custom-made location certainly has its perks. The lighting is easier to set up, I already have plenty of good camera angles and positions prepared, and there are much better backgrounds to work with instead of constantly shooting against plain walls. The biggest downside so far is that you actually have to build the whole thing first, lol.
Another piece of good news from last week is that I think I’ve finally found a way to make proper high-poly versions of the characters. This is especially useful for detailed sculpting, things like grabbing, squeezing, collisions, and all those little deformations that make physical interactions look much more convincing.
Until now, I could do this properly only for still renders. For animations, I had to stick to the standard Daz base mesh, which isn’t particularly dense in areas like the chest and butt. So, for example, I could make it look like MC gets a proper handful when grabbing Megan’s butt, but only for one specific pose and one still render.
If my theory is correct, I should now be able to bring the same level of detail into animations and actually show the whole interaction in motion. Which, obviously, opens up quite a few interesting possibilities. ;-p
I still need to test everything properly and make sure the workflow actually behaves the way I expect it to, but I’d say there’s about a 9/10 chance it’ll work. If it does, you’ll definitely be seeing the results in future scenes.
As for the plans for this week, I need to finish the second parlor scene, which should take around two more days, and then move on to the office scene. That one is mostly dialogue-based and the characters don’t move around too much, so I expect it to go pretty fast. Oh, and Violet’s office has already been ready since Episode 11, so at least this time I shouldn’t suddenly discover another entire location that needs to be built from scratch, heh.
That’s it for now, guys. Stay tuned, I’ll talk to you soon!
