First batch of fixes for update 6.1.0 is here- for now still only on the test branch until we bring 6 to where we want it.

All Users

Backgrounds

  • Image backgrounds (nodes, library, canvas) are now vertically centred instead of starting from the top and cropping the bottom.

  • A background now scales smoothly as its box expands/collapses, instead of snapping straight to the final size.

Look & feel

  • Links on light (dark-text) skins now render as a uniform, moderately darker shade of each link's own colour across every tree — genuinely dark and readable, no longer forced so dark they all read as flat black, and no longer washed-out either.

  • The home top-bar filter tooltips (focus, favorites, old/new me, todo, ancestry, world, truth) now have rounded corners to match the rest of the UI.

Data mode

  • The old/new me filter no longer appears in the top bar while in Data mode — it's a self-improvement filter, and Data mode already hides those features (including the Me board).

  • Data mode now hides the personal-development features immediately on launch, instead of only after toggling the switch off and on again.

Fixes

  • On the cluster / graph boards, hovering a link now shows the two nodes' names and tapping it opens the relation — it previously read "? → ?" and did nothing.

Plus & Lite

Canvas

  • A board's background now behaves just like a node image: it shows on the home page and in search, sits below the box title and date, fills the whole box with cropped corners, stays centred, and scales smoothly when you open the board. (Existing boards migrate automatically.)

  • Open a canvas straight from search or the library — tapping a canvas opens its board (on Lite or Plus), not the node editor.

  • Resizing a node now scales its floating action buttons and its layer label along with the box; the layer badge moved to the top-centre of the node.

  • New nodes land at the centre of your current view (not off-screen at the board's top-left), and duplicating a node now selects the copy so you can move it right away.

  • The Layers panel is wider (responsive), so long layer names no longer get cut off with a "…", and the toolbar Layers button shows which layer is active at a glance.

  • The active highlight / focus chip moved to the bottom-left (it used to overlap the board's title) and is now skin-themed to match the surface. The Nucleus "no other nodes match" hint moved off the title for the same reason.

  • The link-between-two-nodes dialog (right-click a node while another is selected) no longer lists internal, data-storage link types — only real relations you'd actually draw. And when a relation reads differently from each side (e.g. "parent of" vs "child of"), you pick the wording directly as two options instead of a plain forward/back arrow; symmetric relations stay a single option.

  • You can no longer accidentally hand-create canvas / view / timeline node types (or their internal link types) from the add-node / add-link flows.

Settings

  • The Remote DB status chip is now tappable to open Settings (matching the model and world chips).

Plus

  • Expanded content no longer overlaps the pinned bar at the bottom of the screen.
