Dear players, we are ridiculously happy to finally show you multiplayer in SuperWEIRD.
If you just drifted into our little corner of the universe, SuperWEIRD is an automation roguelite about building weird production chains, commanding clumsy robots, experimenting with Tetris-like pieces of a broken planet, and trying to survive the Corruption called Goofy Goo. You can play solo, or now, if the stars line up correctly, with friends.

This is our first real multiplayer pass, and during development we caught a truly impressive pile of bugs. The funniest one was when we discovered that you could invite yourself into your own game. Just imagine the programmer’s face when we found that.
So please keep in mind: this is the first attempt. We are not completely sure it works. We really, really hope it does, but multiplayer is multiplayer, so bravery is required. If you want to try it, we prepared a detailed instruction here:

We hope we fixed everything, but let’s be honest: with multiplayer, that kind of luck would be suspicious.
Alongside multiplayer, we added the first part of elite enemies, made a bunch of balance changes, and worked on many small quality-of-life things. Placing pieces should now feel clearer thanks to previews for roads and corruption, the UI has been cleaned up a bit, wave progress is shown more directly, towers now display their radius, and roads can go around obstacles inside rooms.

We also worked on the later part of the run, so there is a better reason to push forward and see what waits near the end. The Core has learned how to fire a laser now, which feels both useful and slightly worrying. The player also got a new weapon: an axe.
And, of course, there are about a million tiny changes hiding between all of this.

Players with keys can jump in and try the new build right now. If something breaks, behaves strangely, or summons a version of yourself that should not exist, please tell us. Multiplayer feedback is especially useful for us right now.
Thank you for testing, breaking things, reporting things, and helping SuperWEIRD become more weird in the correct direction.
Happy testing!
