Patch Notes - Playtest Update #3

All newsPlayers around this dateRead on Steam

Hey everyone!

We heard your feedback about the game’s readability, and this update focuses heavily on making the Elderball, Guardian objectives, team possession, and combat feedback much easier to understand.

We’ve also made a major update to the Guardian gameplay loop.

Here are the main changes 👇

Highlights

  • Reworked the Guardian objective and weak-point system

  • Added Guardian health bars

  • Added a new possession and Elderball charge HUD

  • Added an animated crosshair with hit indicators

  • Redesigned the Guardian weak points

  • Added team colors to the Elderball

  • Improved Server Browser ping information

  • Updated the arena layout around the Guardian shrines

Guardian Gameplay Rework

The Guardian objective now works differently.

After one successful team pass, two weak points on the opposing Guardian will activate.

Complete a second successful pass to activate two additional weak points.

Each active weak point can be hit multiple times, but the active weak points reset whenever another successful pass is completed.

The Guardian now has a total of 100 HP, and every successful weak-point hit deals 20 damage.

The first team to reduce the opposing Guardian’s health to zero wins the match.

Gameplay Readability Improvements

We heard what you had to say about understanding what is happening during a match, so we’ve made several changes to improve visual clarity.

New HUD System

The HUD now clearly displays:

  • Which team currently possesses the Elderball

  • Whether the Elderball is charged

  • The health of both Guardians

New Animated Crosshair

We’ve added a new animated crosshair system with hit indicators, making it easier to understand when your attacks successfully connect.

Redesigned Guardian Weak Points

The Guardian weak points have been redesigned to provide:

  • Clearer visual feedback

  • Better visibility during combat

  • A stronger visual connection between the Elderball and the Guardian

Elderball Team Colors

When the Elderball is possessed, it will now display the color of the team currently holding it.

Its charged energy will also use the possessing team’s color, making it easier to understand who controls the ball and which side you are playing on.

Server Browser Improvements

We’ve updated the Server Browser ping system to provide more accurate information and improve matchmaking between different regions.

Arena Updates

The layout around both Guardian shrines has been updated to improve visibility and make the objective easier to read during a match.

Next Community Playtest

We’re hosting our next playtest on July 26 to test all of these changes!

Come play with us and become part of the community helping us make Trivals the best it can be.

Your feedback continues to shape the game, and we can’t wait to hear what you think.

See you on the court!
