I just realized there's a patch notes section here I should have been filling out all weekend! Here's the breakdown on everything (that I can remember) that's been fixed/updated since the playtest launched on Friday:
Fixes
- Fixed crouch stuttering
- Fixed game breaking bugs in hallway scene
- Fixed quicktime UI locking issues (that damn E...)
- Fixed room duplication (flicking to the same room twice in a row should no longer happen)
- Fixed puzzles breaking each other
- Fixed various smaller bugs that nobody seemed to notice but made me absolutely die inside that I missed them
Updates
- Updated player puzzle journey in the hallway so it's more streamlined and less obtuse
- Updated player movement speed and crouch speed to be closer to game intention
- Updated race car reticle interaction so it's easier to select and move the race cars (it turns red now so you can see!)
- Updated multiple light sources within different rooms to add more indication as to what the player is supposed to do next (originally key elements were wrapped in darkness and were being missed by most players)
- Updated sound effect triggers to hopefully entice players to investigate scare events more often
- Updated puzzle flow to be much more streamlined and removed unintended puzzle complexity (you're not supposed to go back into previously solved rooms in this playtest)
- Updated note texts to be more interesting and less unnecessarily verbose (also dragged them kicking and screaming back to the game's darker, more abusive themes)
- Updated multiple scare events to trigger more regularly/have better animations/be more visible
That's all I can remember now, though I'm sure there were more I've forgotten about (it's been a crazy weekend). More fixes, updates, and additions on the way!
Thanks to everyone who's submitted feedback - all of these changes were brought about through your efforts and I couldn't be more grateful!
