Hi!
There hasn’t been much news lately, and for the most part I’ve been releasing smaller patches based on your reports — fixing things like overlapping text, localization issues, UI problems, and other smaller details.
I really want to bring you a major update, but this one is going to take some time.
There is simply a lot of work involved — both on my side and on the design side.
According to my current plan, the next major update should add roughly as much new gameplay time as the game already has now. At a certain point, you may even be able to almost forget about the main office, because a large part of the new gameplay will take place in your Personal Office.
At the moment, around 27 new windows are planned. Some of them will be similar to each other, but all of this will be spread across just three applications on your office computer.
CAB.site
This is where the subcontractor system will be located.
You’ll be able to hire subcontractors directly.
You’ll also be able to create requests for contracts and wait for different companies to respond to your offer. These requests may even be available for regular contracts.
After that, you’ll be able to choose the most suitable company from the list of applicants.
This section will also show your active agreements with subcontractors and your active construction contracts.
TenderBor.site This will be the main tender system.
A new company ranking system will appear here.
At this point, you are no longer just a small company working for one city. You’re entering a much bigger game, where reputation starts to matter much more.
There will be tenders, bidding, competition with other companies, and the ability to offer more attractive terms to the client.
Get ready to negotiate and fight for contracts.
After winning a tender, you’ll also decide how you want to approach the project.
Do you want to save money, take more risks, and make a bigger profit?
Or would you rather invest more into the project and build your company’s reputation?
Your rating will no longer be just a nice number — it will directly affect your access to larger and more serious projects.
The way resources are assigned to construction sites will also change significantly.
You won’t be limited to sending only your own employees.
Want to use a subcontractor? You can.
One crew isn’t enough for a large project? Send a second additional crew with another Foreman.
This will be a completely different approach to managing workers, equipment, and resources on a project.
There will also be a Top 15 construction company ranking that will change as your company grows.
PermitBuild.site Large projects require paperwork.
The game will have 7 license categories that you’ll need to obtain.
Getting them will require money, employees, equipment, and time.
But simply having a license won’t be enough.
Each license will also have different authorization levels.
Do you have a license for road construction?
Great.
But what class is it?
Before applying for a project, you’ll need to pay close attention to what your company is actually qualified to do.
Of course, the game won’t even allow you to apply for a tender if your company doesn’t have the required license or authorization level.
You’re no longer working only in your small local city.
Now there are serious inspections, serious money, and naturally — serious problems.
And I almost forgot one more important system.
Large construction projects will be divided into around 7 stages.
After each stage is completed, an inspection will take place.
If the inspector finds problems, be ready to pay a fine, spend additional resources, and redo part of the work.
Or… maybe try to solve the situation another way.
For example, by offering a bribe
Sounds promising?
That’s exactly why I’m not asking you for “a little more time.”
I’m simply asking you to give me time.
I don’t want to rush everything and once again release a large system in an unfinished state.
With this update, I also want to start adding more visual differences between contracts: project images, separate images for construction stages, and other elements that will help projects actually feel different from each other.
For now, this will be without full first-person construction site visits — I want to start with this approach first.
But even that will require additional time.
I can work fast, but visual work and design often take much longer than they may seem from the outside.
I also want to move slightly away from the current UI style with this update.
I want the new systems to look brighter, more modern, more detailed, and more visually interesting.
Which, of course, means even more work.
Thank you for your understanding, patience, and support.
I’ll gradually share progress on this major update across all social media so you can follow how it develops.
Thank you again.
And as always…
I fix. I read. I work! 🦝🔧
