The Open Beta runs from July 16th at 10am PT through to 11:59pm PT July 19th.
This is the only chance to preview Act 2 before launch, so if you want to see the new Germania content before Chained Beasts fully releases, this is your one-and-only window to do so.
Act 2 leads you and your crew North into Germania, a frostier and considerably less forgiving arena than the warm sands of Carthage.
New foes, new traps, and new ways to turn the environment against those who would seek to end your life. Throwing an enemy into one of the new spike traps will impale them, so if you've been looking for an excuse to get creative with your killing blows, Germania might be the town for you.
Germania has a formidable champion, and he didn't earn that title by accident. Goliath is our newest boss fight, and he's built to test your agility as you get out of the way of his unpredictable jump and ground slam attack.
Arm up, coordinate with your friends, and find out if you've got what it takes to put Goliath down.
Between acts, you can now visit the Surgeon. They'll help you manage your afflictions if your scars are piling up, or offer augmentations to your body that grant new skills.
Every procedure has a cost, so weigh it carefully before you go under the knife!
This update adds 24 new skills, afflictions, and items to shake up your runs.
A few of our favourite recent additions are:
Psychosis, which causes you to hallucinate weapons into the arena;
Untouchable, which grants 6 seconds of invulnerability after an execution;
and the Priceless Vase, which pays out 100 coins if you can hold it and survive the fight without taking damage.
We've added a new axe to fight with, and two new difficulty options for those sicko’s who want their suffering in the arena to hit that extra bit harder.
Thank you to everyone who's played, wishlisted, and sent us feedback so far. The open beta is a big step for us, and we're excited to see what you and your friends do with it. Jump in, cause some chaos, and let us know what you think.
