Lazy Legions 2.0.0 Update

Version 2.0.0 focuses on smoother expeditions, safer defeat recovery, easier monster companion management, and a more reliable desktop-window experience. This update also includes a large collection of performance, save, UI, and stability fixes.

Monster companion capture rework

  • Removed capture-tool quantities and the temporary holding process.
  • Weaken a normal monster below 30% health, then capture it directly into your permanent roster.
  • Auto Capture now turns itself off when the roster is full, preventing repeated failure messages.
  • The companion roster now clearly displays the active-team limit and supports up to 5 active pets.
  • Added a confirmation step before permanently releasing a companion.
  • Pending captures from older saves are automatically migrated into the new roster system.

Safer expeditions and defeat recovery

  • Fixed an issue where a defeated team could become stuck at the camp departure gate.
  • Fixed expedition routes being rebuilt more than once after a defeat.
  • Defeat recovery is now saved as a complete, recoverable checkpoint instead of a partial intermediate state.
  • Fixed hot-loading another save slot sometimes applying the defeat penalty twice or carrying over stale hero effects.
  • Improved co-op persistence protection so roster and equipment data are not overwritten while recovery is being committed.

Desktop window and visual improvements

  • Fixed clicks passing through to the desktop after mouse passthrough had been disabled. The game and main menu now correctly capture the full window.
  • Added a responsive animated sky backdrop for expeditions and improved its coverage across different resolutions and world transitions.
  • Removed the old day/night cycle and its hidden enemy power and loot modifiers, keeping combat values and environmental visibility consistent.
  • Improved weather presentation, background visibility, and window interaction behavior.

Bug fixes and performance

  • Spread large monster and terrain cleanups across multiple frames to reduce stalls after defeats and route changes.
  • Added runtime memory protection that reduces temporary effect load under pressure and restores normal quality when memory becomes available.
  • Fixed enemies leaving the playable area or losing their movement state when being returned.
  • Fixed stale UI resource references and a deferred formation-handle error that could repeatedly appear during rapid roster changes.
  • Improved effect cleanup, boss behavior, expedition progress safeguards, save coalescing, localization, and general stability.

In-game feedback

The new feedback panel links to our support channels and can copy a privacy-safe diagnostic summary containing the game version, platform, renderer, language, viewport, and current scene. It does not automatically upload files or request Steam reviews.

Thank you for playing and for continuing to send us feedback. If you encounter an issue after updating, please include the 2.0.0 version shown in game when contacting us.
