Your first ten minutes on the campus: finding your feet, and finding your way.

Finding your way

  • A movement tutorial for new players. After meeting Grudu, a banner at the bottom of the screen walks you through each move: look around, find the signpost, walk, step back, sidestep, run. It waits for you to actually do it before moving on, then sends you up to the Mentorium.

Your language, your profile

  • The language now belongs to your profile. Choose it in the profile menu, validate, and it stays with that profile, inside the buildings too. Validating a profile no longer switches the game back to your Windows language.
  • First launch in your language. On a fresh install, the game starts in the language of your Windows: French, English, Spanish or German, and English otherwise.

The Scriptorium, lighter and steadier

  • No more flickering on modest PCs. The room's lighting is now baked in: the candles light their desks quietly, the lamps stay steady whatever your quality setting, and only the oil lamp still breathes. It runs smoother on laptops too.

Under the hood

  • Quitting the game is now recorded, so we can finally see where and when players stop, and make those moments better.
  • If you play the version downloaded from angelostudio.fr, the profile screen now tells you when a newer version is online. Steam updates on its own, so you will never see it here.

Already playing? A short review on Steam helps a small studio more than you would think.

A shading effect was redrawing the whole scene a second time every frame, for depth that the baked lighting already provides. It now runs indoors only, where it earns its cost. The campus lighting has been baked again: the buildings added this summer are lit properly, and corners and foliage carry their own shading.
