Welcome, noble friends! For Steam's Party-Based RPG Fest we open the gates of the Zodiac Citadel a little early. This demo runs on our experimental branch: new champion powers, a campaign that now is closer to our vision, with research and recovery between missions, and the speed controls you asked for. Expect rough edges, malfunctioning skills and the occasional collapse. Your reports will be thoroughly studied by our astrologer monks.
May the stars guide your blades.
Six months of updates March–September 2026
- Animation speed controls, as requested: speed up your turns, enemy turns, or both, up to 8×.
- Faster enemy volleys: groups of archers now fire together, cutting down the wait between shots.
- Expanded campaign: discover and assault enemy bases, disrupt their expansion, and explore ancient sites for rewards.
- Champion customization: promote soldiers into Zodiac champions, choose ascension bonuses, and equip researched abilities and stat runes through inscriptions.
- New Zodiac powers: charging attacks for Aries and Taurus, Leo’s Roar and Nemean Claws, and Capricorn’s foresight, shielding and fate manipulation.
- Reworked research and Citadel upgrades: redesigned research books, permanent discounts from collected copies, expanded inscription capacity, and facilities improving recruitment, recovery and magic.
- More combat options: Overwhelm enemies to drain stamina, stun opponents, sling shields, and create ice walls that block movement and sight.
- Battlefield mana: a shared spellcasting pool, replenished at crystal pedestals.
- Wounds and recovery: serious hits limit healing during battle; hospital upgrades help survivors recover.
- Mid-mission evacuation: withdraw individual soldiers through eligible exits.
- Parties travelling home can also be recalled by spending crystals.
- Autosaves: rotating saves at the start of each month and before and after battles.
- Clearer battle information: live objective progress, a threat-level dial, and detailed combat-log explanations. Hold Alt to keep tooltips open and explore linked rules.
- Better campaign tracking: mission countdowns, monthly reports, and an event history with clickable province names.
- - Fewer accidental turn endings: confirmation when soldiers still have actions available.
- - Improved visibility and presentation: scenery fades around obscured soldiers, movement previews remain visible behind walls, and attack and
- spell animations stay synchronized at higher speeds.
