Greetings, Pilots!
The mid-term update mentioned previously is coming soon, and we would like to take this opportunity to provide a detailed explanation of the major changes in this update through this Dev Update. As mentioned in our previous Dev Update, we will introduce Mod Strikers in this update, and their accompanying Mod Presets will provide independent gameplay setups for individual Strikers.Custom Strikers, as an earlier batch of special Striker designs, previously only had visual features. However, we do not wish for Custom Strikers to be overshadowed by the introduction of Mod Strikers. Therefore, while preparing the Mod Strikers, we have also decided to create corresponding Mod Presets for Custom Strikers, ensuring they retain their due value.First, it should be noted that the Mod Presets in this update will take effect directly on all unlocked Custom Strikers, and will not affect the sale price of Custom Strikers in ACE RECRUITMENT. This update will not incur any additional costs or resource consumption. How to Use the Mod Presets? Now that the unlock method for Custom Striker Mod Presets has been clarified, let us explain how to activate them.As stated in our previous preview, after this update, STRIKER DESIGN and Mod Presets will be decoupled. This means you can use the FALCON CUSTOM preset while using the standard STRIKER DESIGN, or switch to the FALCON MOD preset while using the FALCON CUSTOM STRIKER DESIGN.Operations such as applying paint or replacing seasonal weapon skins will not affect the effectiveness of the restricted modification preset.
As shown in the images above, the mod preset that takes effect will be displayed on the main interface. Let us illustrate this with a few examples:
In Image 1, the FALCON CUSTOM STRIKER DESIGN is selected, but the modification preset uses the basic version of the FALCON;In Image 2, the basic FALCON STRIKER DESIGN is selected, but the modification preset uses the FALCON CUSTOM version; In Image 3, on top of the FALCON CUSTOM STRIKER DESIGN, the mod preset of the FALCON · Cloudpiercer (the upcoming mod) is used. This switching control can be performed via the [Main Interface] - [Striker Bay] - [Mods] page.
Additionally, mod presets can also be switched during the pre-battle ready phase after a match is found, as well as in virtual training.
Please note, however, that mod presets cannot be switched once the match has begun (mainly in Casual Mode).
So what exactly has been changed? In the screenshots above, we have shown the adjustment direction for the FALCON CUSTOM. Due to space limitations, we cannot list all the changes here. For details, please refer to the update notice released on September 14. Here, we will only provide a few examples to explain the adjustment approach.FALCON CUSTOM: FALCON's damage output is somewhat dependent on Aux 3 Heavy Missile Launcher, and during the downtime of Aux 3, FALCON's DPS may drop sharply. The CUSTOM variant offers a smoother and more sustained damage curve in this regard, but its vulnerability window and survivability will be challenged.WELKIN CUSTOM: WELKIN currently sees very high usage in actual combat with diverse playstyles. In this modification, we aim to specialize WELKIN's capability in single-target engagements. By increasing the speed of its blade dash and the cycling efficiency of Aux 1, it will gain more opportunities to initiate, and utilize the Physical damage boost effect within the Force Field to quickly eliminate enemies. As a trade-off, it will demand higher energy management from the Pilot and will see a reduction in long-range consumption capabilities.SERENITH CUSTOM: SERENITH will receive a modification plan leaning more towards a Support role after this update. While its sustained damage output will be somewhat reduced, the overall team's endurance will be strengthened. Additionally, the Recon Kit in this plan will be granted a vision-sharing effect.NARUKAMI TYPE-S: We aim to recreate the combat style seen in Kanon's CUSTOM PV. Therefore, the modification plan will focus primarily on Aux 1, greatly enhancing its control range and the number of targets it can control, along with improved radar effects, allowing it to control the battlefield and deal damage from multiple angles. As a trade-off, its damage in Sniper Mode will be reduced.
LUMINAE CUSTOM: LUMINAE will be darkened in its modification plan. Compared to its initial state, LUMINAE's Erosion mode often lacks value in practical combat. In this adjustment, LUMINAE's primary and sidearm weapons will be enhanced and harder to evade. While sacrificing some escape and repair capabilities, it will gain the ability to counterattack and contribute in team fights.
There's a lot to unpack here, so we're saving the full breakdown of the FALCON CUSTOM variant, FALCON · Cloudpiercer, and subsequent CUSTOM variants in the next announcement.Stay tuned and see you on the battlefield!
