Update 3.3.1 — The Instruments of Power

All newsPlayers around this dateRead on Steam

The world doesn't just react anymore - it negotiates, retaliates, and holds you to your budget. This update turns economics and statecraft into instruments you can actually wield, and makes the numbers behind them honest to the last dollar.

Tariffs as statecraft. Levy tariffs on a single rival, a group, a whole bloc, or the world - and see the likely impact before you commit, in ranges, not guesses. Trade reroutes around your walls, partners threaten and retaliate, and negotiations open a path back down. The AI plays by the exact same rules: it targets, diverts, and answers your economic pressure in kind. A new TRADE EXPOSURE lens on the map shows who's vulnerable to whom.

National Investment, rebuilt. Fund each sector of the economy directly - its cost is spelled out plainly in dollars and share of GDP, while the payoff stays honest and uncertain, the way real investment is. There's no "max everything" button: your budget is finite, and where you spend is a real choice with real trade-offs. Welfare and health are yours to prioritize or neglect - the consequences follow either way.

Money that tells the truth. Every line of spending now reads in real dollars AND as a percentage of GDP. Currency strength, the budget, and the deficit all move as one coherent picture, so you can see exactly what a policy costs before you sign it.

War on many fronts. Armies now split across multiple theaters, and each front moves on its own - concentrate your force and press an advantage, or overstretch and pay for it. The WAR FRONTS card lays out every front, its reach, and its cost at a glance.

A sharper world. Zoom in and provinces snap to crisp, solid color with clean, even borders — all 2,185 of them, instantly. Click a province for accurate, up-to-date detail. Conquered land now recolors toward the aggressor over time, occupation is painted clearly on the map, and a true-terrain view brings the real Earth to the globe. Seasons turn across the year — visible on the map and felt in the economy, as harvests and energy demand rise and fall with the calendar.

Government that adds up. Electoral systems now update correctly when a regime changes, presidential decree powers are recognized as legitimate authority (not just autocracy), monarchies and government types are labeled accurately, and the succession and rules of power behave the way the constitution says they should.

A deeper, more honest simulation. Poverty, redistribution, housing costs, and migration now move with real cause and effect. Covert and cyber operations run both ways — the AI can move against you as readily as you move against it. And under the hood, we completed a full audit of all 100 simulation systems, tightened determinism, and folded in dozens of correctness fixes so the whole world stays consistent from the first turn to the last.

Game update5 Sep 2026Update 3.2.2 — The Economy AnswersThe two screens you live in got the redesign they deserved. The Production screen is now a true economic dashboard — cost, prices, margin, supply coverage and import sources at a glance, with a preview of what your slider will do before you commit — and expanding production now costs the budget real money, so output is a fiscal decision. The HOME dashboard leads with the numbers that matter. Al…Game update5 Sep 2026Update 3.2.1 - The BrinkWars between great powers are now rare and momentous. No conflict can ignite without three announced months at the brink — a window the world (and you) can use to act — and nuclear powers genuinely deter each other: most great-power standoffs freeze into armed confrontation rather than erupting. See yours on the Economy overview with employment, wages and top industries per sector; compare any two nations on the world map; watch it transform over decades.
