Combat Refined
Update 0.47 brings a substantial round of performance improvements, new combat sounds, a new ship-destruction sequence, fresh Endless rewards, Lyra's updated portrait, and extensive localization fixes.
Performance
We've tested this patch across a wide range of machines. The update reduces repeated work throughout combat and targets frame-time spikes in crowded fights, large wave clears, and effect-heavy moments. Performance will still vary with your settings and the action on screen.
- Reduced rendering and update work across enemies, abilities, pickups, and the HUD, with particular attention to busy late-game battles.
- Smoothed the workload when many enemies die together and moved more visual preparation into loading.
- Reduced repeated work when opening upgrade choices and other menus.
- Improved rapid Ultimate use during Overload and overlapping Siegebreaker impacts while preserving their combat effects.
- Dreadnought's finale keeps its full projectile barrage with substantially less drawing work. Boss assets now begin loading during their warning sequence to reduce arrival hitches.
Sound & Feedback
- New sound feedback for Ultimate activation and Overload, Pulse Strike, healing pickups, magnetic push, Field vacuum, and nearby rotating mini-boss lasers.
- New and revised boss weapon, impact, healing, and encounter sounds, with careful limits and mixing to keep important damage feedback audible.
- Pulse Strike uses a refined release sound, tuned for comfort through longer runs.
- Reina's hull-damage sounds are less repetitive during sustained healing and near-full-health chip damage; heavy and dangerous hits retain their warnings.
- A Player Abilities volume control in Settings lets you adjust Pulse Strike separately from the main SFX mix.
Ship Destruction & Presentation
- Fatal run endings now play a ship-destruction sequence before the results screen. Reactor fractures and void collapses use your equipped ship's appearance and colors, with tumbling hull fragments and dedicated sound effects.
- The ship carries its momentum into the sequence while the battlefield dims and the music softens.
- Lyra, Keeper of the Core, has an updated profile portrait in the hub.
Interface & Controls
- Core Teal palette: Choose Core Teal or the original Classic Cyan in Settings. Applying the palette updates the interface immediately.
- Gameplay bindings: Rebind Ultimate and Cycle Skin separately for keyboard and controller, including controller triggers. HUD and tutorial hints follow your bindings, and default bindings can be restored.
- Tabbed Settings: Graphics, Audio, Interface, and Controls have dedicated pages, with Apply and Back always available.
- Pickup visibility: Relic boxes and Endless Caches have stronger visual markers and off-screen guidance. Forgotten off-screen relic boxes can play a quiet reminder, suppressed during boss encounters and cinematics.
- The main-menu version label now shows the version number without the previous build-status watermark.
Localization
- Extensive translation corrections and consistency improvements across the supported languages, including descriptions, dialogue, objectives, and interface text.
- Updated localized Settings pages, input-binding instructions, tutorial prompts, and diagnostic messages.
- Clarified the Status screen's permanent bonuses and which effects its figures include.
Combat & Progression
- Flankers: Contact and spin-slash damage are reduced by 30% while your Core Level is below 30. Dash warnings keep their original color under debuffs, and hulls remain centered inside role rings as they rotate.
- Late-run leveling: XP requirements grow more gently starting with the level 45 to 46 step.
Full-game encounters & Endless
These changes apply to content available in the full game.
- Endless goals: Reach Threat 25, 50, 75, and 100 to complete new Core Goals, each rewarding 1,000 Aether Seeds.
- New skins: The Threat 75 goal unlocks Reina's Threatline Vanguard; the Threat 100 goal unlocks Umbra's Black Sun Oracle.
- Endless balance: Enemy durability and damage growth ease after Threat 45. Duelist Challengers have more health and arrive more frequently in the later Threat range.
- Leviathan: Its two phase-two railguns fire in an alternating cadence, each retaining its charge warning, in both the in-run encounter and Rift fight.
- Eidolon: Subtle, distorted surface visions accompany its combo attack and friendly event purge, with gentle movement-driven parallax.
- Harrier and Exile: Lance-train patterns have clearer, reachable gaps and reduced crossing between attacks. Harrier ability damage has increased by 15% following these fairness improvements.
Reporting Problems
Settings now includes Open Logs Folder to help you find local diagnostic files when reporting a problem. Logs stay on your computer; nothing is uploaded automatically.
