Patch 0.5.8 - Black Screen Fix + Combat Log Polish

Black screen after splash - fixed

If you launched the demo, watched the company logo, then sat staring at a black screen forever, this was a real bug, not your machine. A URP / Adaptive Probe Volume initialization issue made the render pipeline fail on the first frame of the title scene. After that, nothing rendered. The exception fired before Sentry crash reporting could pick it up, which is why I had no idea how widespread it was.

It's fixed. If you bounced off the demo without ever seeing the menu, please give it another go.

Combat log: events bundle by attack

Combat used to spam the message log with a separate line per roll, defence, empower, and damage step. Mid-fight, that's a lot to read. Now each attack groups into a single block, so you can follow the whole exchange in one place and scroll back through your turn without piecing fragments together.

Enemy defence dice now visible

The enemy info panel now shows the target's defence dice pool. Before this, you had to guess what dice an enemy could roll against your attack. Now you can plan around it: pick the right empower, or skip the attack if their pool looks heavy.

Thanks to everyone who's stuck with the demo through this. Feedback on Discord helps a lot.

Game update18 Jun 2026Patch 0.6.7: Controller settings and a new itemA small, mostly polish and fixes. There's a proper Controller settings page now, a new uncommon item to find, a round of controller polish, and a fix for some targeting bugs that could soft lock your movement. I also updated the license agreement and privacy policy this version, and I explain that plainly near the bottom. Controller settings There's a dedicated Controller tab in Settings now. Y…Game update17 Jun 2026Patch 0.6.6.7: Loading screen fix for HDR monitorsIf you ever launched into a match and got stuck on the loading screen, with the game clearly running underneath but no way to see or play it, this patch is for you. I'm sorry. That is a rotten first impression, especially during the festival, and far too many of you sat through it. I finally tracked it down. The freeze only happened on HDR monitors with Windows HDR turned on. At startup the gam…Game update15 Jun 2026Patch 0.6.6.1: Smoother loadingThis one is mostly under the hood. We reworked how the game handles the loading screen between the menu, the lobby and a match, so the loads are cleaner and you never catch the level still building itself. Fixes The loading screen now stays up until the game is fully ready. On slower PCs and bigger levels it could lift a moment early and show the level still putting itself together. It now hold…
