And another update! Mr. Jello is much happier with the results of the changes involving juiceness and is now a lot calmer... his task list is still huge, but a weight has been lifted off his shoulders. The main changes in this update focus on quality of life and accessibility.

Board

  • The Support cartridge now costs 15 Jellocoins

  • The Molotov cartridge now costs 15 Jellocoins

  • The Portal Gun cartridge has been added to the base cartridges. Description: Choose a player to instantly switch places with.

Quality of life

  • Added juiciness effects to the cartridges and when moving across tiles

  • Added juiciness effects to items on the room screen, lobby, and general buttons

  • Added juiciness effects to the character selection screen

  • Added small visual effects to the Pew Pew Pew, Molotov, and Whac a Mole cartridges

  • Players no longer need to press another button to add a bot — everything now happens on the same button

  • Players can now play local mode using only controllers. The first player will have it defined whether they'll use MOUSE & KEYBOARD or CONTROLLER depending on the device they use to enter the mode.

  • Added the option to change the match settings directly in the lobby

  • Changed the camera position when using selectable character cards like the Whac a Mole

Accessibility

  • Added a UI scaling option for the Board HUD, aimed at helping players with 4K monitors have a better experience

  • Added an option for a default Board ZOOM pattern, aimed at helping players with 4K monitors have a better experience

  • Added the option to change the mouse cursor to 2X, 3X, and 4X versions

Bugs

  • Fixed the alternative cursor bug on clickable objects in the menu

  • The lobby values in local mode are now correctly updated

  • Fixed some issues with the alternative cursor on objects with altered areas

Known critical bugs

  • Starting the game and reconnecting to a match sometimes fail; the chances are higher with 4 players and/or setups with very different performance levels

  • Buying a D10 cartridge while heading to the shop using the Scroll Of Town Portal cartridge consumes the D10 as if it were the shop portal scroll.

  • The match room may have issues if players join and leave it, especially if they are players who were already in the room. (For now, it's best to recreate the room if this happens)

Current development priorities

The juiciness issue has now been mostly resolved — there will still be a few fixes and adjustments, the reason being that it yields similar results with less effort across many more areas.

  • Enlarge the board

  • Juiciness improvements

  • Improve the board game loop

  • Speed up the bots and prevent issues with them on the board

  • Match stability
