Demolition used to be one brick wall and one button. Now you pick what to wreck: a wall, a round tower, a stepped pyramid, or a fortress with a keep inside it. The fortress starts at 2,476 bricks and the sliders take it past 7,000.
Three ways to throw the ball: from the front, straight down from above, or in from the corner. Whichever way the camera is facing, that's the side the ball comes in on. Throw more than one and they'll knock each other around too. The ball is cast iron, roughly eight times heavier than a brick of the same size.
Nothing about the collapse is animated. Each brick is its own object and the engine sorts out what happens when they hit each other. It's also why the bricks are laid the way a bricklayer would lay them. Build a round tower the obvious way and the bricks end up 15 mm inside each other, which the engine treats as a problem to fix immediately, so the tower blows itself apart before the ball turns up.
Two things I should say. The fortress at full size is the heaviest scene in the whole suite, so on an older machine expect to lose frames.
