The Steam page for Echoes of the Lost is now open. If you found your
way here early, thank you - visibility at this stage comes almost entirely
from people who decide a project is worth following.
A cinematic first-person survival horror set in an isolated American town
where communications have failed and the military response has gone silent.
You play as Rook, entering the quarantine zone with a private response squad.
Bulldog leads, Doc handles casualties, Ghost watches the perimeter. What
begins as a controlled investigation becomes a fight to get out, as infected
residents, collapsing infrastructure and phenomena that resist explanation
tear the operation apart.
The outbreak is the surface. What is underneath it is considerably older.
The project is built in Unreal Engine 5.8 by a solo developer, part-time,
over the past year and a half.
No release dates yet. They will be announced when they are real, not before.
The immediate focus is finishing the demo and testing it with people who have
never seen the game. Horror depends on things a developer cannot judge alone:
whether tension holds, whether a scare still works the second time, whether
players understand where to go without a marker telling them.
Progress will be posted here as it happens - including the parts that do not
work and have to be redone.
If this is your kind of horror, adding it to your wishlist genuinely helps.
It is the main signal Steam uses to decide who else gets to see the game.
