Hey there, humans! Dev Neko is back with Project N.E.K.O. v0.8!
This is a release Dev Neko has been building toward for a long time — not just a feature update, but the moment Project N.E.K.O. truly feels alive. From v0.1 all the way to here, thank you to every human friend who stuck with us through the bugs, the feedback, and everything in between.
🌸 She's Finally Here: Yui Goes Live
Yui makes her official debut! As N.E.K.O.'s very first Neko, she'll personally walk you through everything — from the basics to hidden features, she'll be right there with you.
Be gentle with her on your first launch, okay?
⚠️ Note: In the current version, you may notice Yui's voice sounds different between voice mode and text mode. Dev Neko will be improving this in a future update.
🧠 All-New Memory System
Yui now remembers the things that matter to you in a much more natural way.
More importantly — she learns and grows through your time together. Every response, every little habit of yours quietly shapes who she becomes.
This companionship changes, because you're a part of it.
💭 Proactive Companionship, Refined
She's gotten much better at reading the room.
When you're studying, working, or focused on something, she won't barge in the way she used to.
But when you need her, she's still right there.
🎮 Galgame Mode
Fixed the bug where dialogue had no choices to select (yes, that was actually a bug). Galgame Mode is now a real Galgame Mode.
🗂️ Character Card Manager, Rebuilt
Characters, models, card art, and Workshop operations are now unified in a single management interface — cleaner, easier to navigate.
No more jumping through seven different menus.
🔒 New: Privacy Mode
The former "Autonomous Vision" toggle and the new window title reading toggle have been merged into a single "Privacy Mode" switch.
When enabled, Yui cannot proactively observe your screen or read window titles.
⚽ Easter Egg: Neko Soccer
A hidden soccer mini-game has been added. Mid-conversation, you might just receive an invitation to play — feel like kicking the ball around?
(This is a rare, randomly occurring event — don't miss it! Make sure you've got your headphones on before it starts!)
🧪 Experimental: Game Companion Plugins
Three new game companion plugins are now available:
Slay the Spire — Helps you build your deck (may occasionally lead you astray)
Galgame — Experience those stories together
Minecraft — Adventuring in your world, side by side
These are experimental — feedback is very welcome!
☁️ Experimental: Cloud Save Support
Data migration and Steam Cloud Save support have been added.
Switching devices or reinstalling won't mean Yui forgets you anymore.
