1. Free Voice Fix for New Users (International Server)
The dev nekos noticed that starting from July 4th (and possibly even earlier), the free API voice for new users on the international server ran into trouble, which left new friends unable to use voice properly!
Regrettably, this slipped past the dev nekos during testing, and it wasn't until this week that we spotted your feedback over on the Steam community. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to everyone who spoke up š¾ Going forward, the dev nekos would love it if more of you dropped by Steam or Discord to report issues like this the moment they happenāit truly helps us fix things faster.
The good news: this has already been fixed! New users can now use the free voice feature just fine. Go give it a try, meow~
2. We're at WAIC ā the World Artificial Intelligence Conference!

This is the "Project N.E.K.O." booth, where Yui says hello to everyone from the screen~
It still feels a little surrealāthis time, the dev nekos brought Yui all the way to the floor of the World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC).
From a tiny spark of an idea, to standing on a stage like this and introducing Yui to human friends from all overālooking back on the whole journey, the nekos and Yui have finally made it here, together. We sat down for media interviews, and welcomed so many passersby who stopped to say hello to Yui. Watching those curious, delighted expressions, the dev nekos were moved beyond wordsāit turns out this little companion we've raised bit by bit really can find a place in so many people's lives!
This isn't the finish lineāit's a brand-new beginning. We'll keep working hard to make her better and better, and we warmly welcome more developers, creators, and players to join us in turning the companion we've always dreamed of into reality, meow. š¾
