v1.51 — Clearer AI tier, leaner memory, smarter lists

Quality pack round three. This one again started with your reports — a Brazilian player's review about the AI tier and its memory use, and the list layouts that still broke in games like Dwarf Fortress. Thank you.

NEW: The high-quality AI tier now tells you its supported directions up front. It covers Chinese / Japanese / Korean to and from English; the settings screen shows this right next to the engine choice, and the store page now says it too. For any other direction the app keeps using the built-in offline engine, exactly as before — it is just no longer a surprise.

FIX: The AI tier uses less memory, and its settings are more honest about it. We profiled the local AI server end to end: its context window was far larger than the app ever uses, so we halved it — roughly 0.5 GB less memory with measurably identical speed and translation quality. The GPU share slider also gained a note, because lowering it does not reduce RAM (weights that leave the GPU simply move into RAM). The app now writes one line about the AI server to its log at startup, which lets us investigate memory reports on any graphics card from your log file.

FIX: More item lists keep their layout. v1.50 fixed left-aligned, evenly sized lists; this update handles centered lists, lists with uneven widths, and two-line label-value pairs — a Dwarf Fortress info screen is a typical case. Each row is now translated on its own line in place instead of being merged into one paragraph. Verified against a 919-screenshot regression run with zero unexplained changes.

FIX: Two smaller things. The numbers-only skip from v1.50 now also applies to the built-in screenshot translator, so both paths behave the same. And the "please switch to borderless window" hint now records each decision to the log, so if it ever misfires for you again we can pinpoint why from your report.

FIX: Selecting a region (F5) could wipe the translation and show only the original text until you restarted the app. When the screen capture silently froze — possible in "show on stream" mode with borderless games — selecting a region cleared the translation on screen, found no text in the stale frame, and with auto-translate off the app never noticed anything was wrong. The capture now detects the freeze during manual translation too and repairs itself, and the overlay no longer throws away a translation until its replacement has actually arrived.

Game update15 Sep 2026v1.53 — About one second to your first translationThis one finishes the speed work we started in v1.52 and cleans up the untranslated leftovers you reported while testing it. Every item below came out of real screenshots and real logs. Thank you. NEW: Text recognition now streams. Instead of recognizing the whole screen before anything else happens, the app recognizes text in reading order and starts translating and drawing while the rest is s…Game update14 Sep 2026v1.52 — Faster on screen, better Chinese, manga-awareThis update is built around one theme: getting your translation on screen sooner. The rest comes straight from your feedback — Chinese quality first, two more Ollama failure modes, and a manga player's detailed report. Thank you for all of it. NEW: Translations now appear as they are ready instead of all at once. On text-heavy screens the first translated line shows up roughly 40 percent sooner…Game update10 Sep 2026v1.50 — Cleaner lists, no stray hanzi, quieter numbersQuality pack round two, and once again every item comes from your reports — a Russian reviewer's screenshots, two players' requests about numeric text, and a visual-novel player's note about a misleading hint. Thank you. FIX: Item lists in Latin-alphabet games are no longer mistaken for a paragraph. Menus and inventories with evenly sized rows — RPG Maker games are a typical case — used to get…
