Hey everyone! One of the biggest pieces of feedback I've seen since launch is that prestiging often didn't feel rewarding enough. For a system that's supposed to make each new run noticeably stronger, too many of the upgrades were either too expensive, too small, or simply didn't feel worth spending your prestige points on.This update is focused heavily on fixing that.
A large number of prestige upgrades have received substantial buffs. The goal is for spending prestige points to have a much more noticeable impact on your next run and allow the game to scale much more aggressively as you progress.I've also adjusted the cost and placement of several upgrades. Some upgrades have been moved into lower tiers because their previous requirements simply didn't match their power.
Several prestige upgrades have also been consolidated.Previously, the Log Temple, Mage Guild, and Engineering Guild were three separate prestige upgrades. These have now been combined into a single upgrade.Likewise, the twelve separate Tier 3 Projectile unlocks have been consolidated into a single prestige upgrade.A few unlocks that didn't feel like they belonged in the prestige tree at all have been removed from it. For example, the Log Turret is now unlocked automatically rather than requiring prestige points. The idea is to spend less of your prestige currency unlocking small prerequisites and more of it buying upgrades that actually make you stronger.
I've also added a brand-new Tier 5 prestige upgrade aimed at making later prestiges and long idle sessions much smoother.Once unlocked, the game will automatically purchase gold only upgrades costing less than 1% of your current gold, checking once per second. This should make the beginning of later prestiges much less tedious, while also helping during long idle sessions as all of those smaller upgrades continue adding up in the background.
The Build Diversification Bonus has been increased from 1.5x to 3x.This should make branching into multiple buildings much more rewarding when choosing roguelite upgrades. The bonus also now applies to more upgrade types, including things such as Projectile Count and Max Ricochet, which previously weren't affected.
Several buildings have been buffed to make more of them competitive options throughout a run.I've also reworked the prestige tier requirements. Later tiers now require more prestige points to unlock, but this should be offset considerably by the much stronger upgrades available throughout the tree.
Fixed cases where projectile information could display two identical tooltips.
Ice Wizard projectile tooltips now display their Shatter amount:
Tier 1: 1
Tier 2: 2
Tier 3: 6
Fixed several roguelite upgrades not being properly removed from the upgrade pool after reaching their effective maximum. For example, once Crit Chance reaches 100%, Crit Chance upgrades should no longer continue appearing.
