Autumn 2026 Roadmap Update

Hello Responders!

We’ve heard loud and clear that players want some insights into what we’re working on next for No More Room in Hell 2 so we’ve dusted off the old Early Access roadmap and given it an update to reflect our direction moving forward:

The Rest of 2026

As described in our Beyond Armageddon blogpost, our core focus for the rest of this year is for us to strengthen the core experience and add endgame goals. Responder Retirement and Hell Mode both look to offer players of all types motivation to continue improving at the game and achieving new heights. Survival, as our newest mode, is receiving two new maps to help add diversity to player’s experiences. We’ve already improved some of our existing maps in Resupply (1.1) and will continue to with Hospital in the near future!

Along the way, we’ll also be looking to add new weapons that take advantage of some of archetypes and ammo types deserving more options. We’ll continue improving various UX & UI feedback points and ensuring that the game becomes easier to navigate and understand. For those who wish to support us or crave some more status symbols, we’ll have both new paid cosmetic packs as well as free cosmetics as part of upcoming systems like Responder Retirement.

Entering 2027 & Beyond

Next year will see us move beyond these fundamental systems and instead begin to build out our gameplay content further. Objective mode will see its first new map fairly early 2027, with more being planned. Survival will continue to see support, including us investigating what an alternative scenario would look like for the gamemode. Solo Mode will have its own version of progression that allows players to play the game on their own as a separate experience from the cooperative progression.

Similarly, we’ll be expanding our weapon offerings to include new types of weapons not yet seen in NMRIH2 and adding more skills, items, improvements, cosmetics to keep the apocalypse’s sandbox rich with new toys to discover and builds to pursue. This stage of development will still be informed by player feedback, the same way our Early Access period was guided by our tightknit community.

We’ll have more to share in the coming weeks about upcoming releases like 1.2 (targeting October) as well as status updates on features as they reach milestones in development. Thank you to everyone who has been playing, providing their thoughts, guiding other players, and making the apocalypse just a bit better with each other. As always, stay safe out there!
