A huge thank you to every crab player who's joined the Crab Rhapsody Playtest so far!
Our developer crabs have received a ton of thoughtful feedback and suggestions, especially regarding bugs and gameplay improvements. As soon as your reports came in, we immediately put down our instant noodles and rushed back to our tiny computers in our damp, dark sewer office to start fixing and polishing the game.
Here's everything included in this update!
Added off-screen enemy indicators to make monsters outside the camera view easier to track.
Improved the Band Member information panel. You can now hover over the entire ability panel instead of just the icon, making it much easier to view each band member's information.
Added click protection to the Refresh button in the Portable Shop to prevent accidental rapid-click interaction issues.
Added hover tips for the instrument weapons info card.
Improved the visual effects of chips with locking effects.
Added a new Equipment Chip category.
Some Chips with locking effects have been reclassified as Equipment Chips, making their functions easier to understand.
Added a maximum knockback distance to prevent enemies from being launched too far away.
Improved the aiming behavior of the Bass Machine Gun.
Optimized the performance of Taiko Thunder.
Cleared lingering weapon effects after combat to prevent them from interfering with player movement.
Players now become invincible after clearing a combat room, preventing lingering damage or knockback from interrupting entry into the jellyfish portal.
Added visual effects when the player is revived.
Reduced the chance of high-difficulty Elite Rooms appearing early in a run.
Improved the readability of various text and removed wording that could confuse.
Adjusted parts of the Band Energy system, making it easier to activate Band Performances.
Rebalanced some Orchestra band member abilities and several Stock Cards.
Improved the flow and interaction from combat rewards and free refreshes to the room selection screen.
Added a V-Sync option.
Added visual effects in Band Rooms to highlight Band Members that belong to the same band or share the same genre synergy.
Fixed an issue that could occur when swapping Chip positions with non-removable Chips in the Portable Shop.
Fixed health bars being blocked by environmental objects.
Fixed collision areas in certain maps that could cause enemies to get stuck or block player movement.
Fixed an issue where save progress could be lost after quitting and reloading the game.
Our developer crabs still have plenty of ideas scribbled down in their little notebooks. We'll keep hammering away at our keyboards and continue releasing more fixes and improvements throughout the playtest.
