Attention, Freerailers!

The Titan Trains are getting more dangerous, but the rewards for those who can hold their ground have never been higher. In our latest update, we’re fundamentally changing how you scavenge and secure your haul. Whether you’re a fresh recruit in the tail or a seasoned veteran pushing for First Class, here’s what you need to know about the new looting landscape in Enginefall.

Get Your Hands Dirty: New Resource Gathering

The days of simply rocking up to a dispenser and ‘vacuuming’ up loose scraps are over. To make gathering feel more tactile and rewarding, we’ve overhauled Resource Dispensers.

Now dispensers will eject Mini-Nodes. These aren't just items you pick up, you’ll need to break them down using your tools. This change turns resource gathering into a deliberate action in keeping with the tools available to Freerailers.

Search Every Nook: Lootable Containers

Scavenging is no longer just about what’s lying on the floor. We’ve populated the carriages with a variety of Searchable Containers.

Many of these can be found hidden throughout the train in unexpected areas...

The Skyhook: Mid-Raid Security

Ever found a super tasty bit of loot halfway through a raid and spent the rest of the run sweating, terrified of losing it before you return to your Dagger Shuttle?

Enter the Skyhook System. Inspired by the old-school "mail bag" pickups used by the U.S. Post Office, the Skyhook allows you to stash your most valuable items mid-raid without having to leave the train.

How it Works:

  1. Find a Terminal: Skyhook terminals are located in Cargo Carriages, specifically along the outer walls.

  2. Deposit Your Goods: Interact with the terminal (only one player at a time!) to open your vault grid.

    • Note: Certain items are blacklisted by the Titan Trains and cannot be skyhooked. If an item is greyed out, you’ll have to carry it to extraction the old-fashioned way.

  3. The Defend Phase: Once you confirm the Skyhook, the train will announce "Skyhooks incoming!" and a countdown begins. This is the danger zone. You must defend the terminal while the hook prepares for pickup. During this time, you cannot add more items, and rival players can raid the terminal to steal your stash!

  4. The Pickup: When the timer hits zero, the items are whisked away. They are now safe from death and theft.

  5. Claim Your Loot: Once your raid is over, head to SkyHook Vault inside your Dagger. All skyhooked items will be waiting there for you to transfer to your permanent vault.

The Cost of Security: Skyhooking requires a Skyhook Token. You receive these upon Class registration. While they can’t be stolen and persist through death, they do not carry over between Titan runs. You can purchase additional tokens for a high Credit cost, so use them wisely!

Strategic Tip: Skyhooking is disabled during the "Enginefall" state (when the train begins catastrophic failure), so make sure to secure your loot before the engine gives out!

The train is moving, Freerailers. Get out there, find those nodes, and secure that loot.
