Global Protocol: New World Order Playtest · published · build 23369092
Hello Commanders! We are rolling out v0.1.83, introducing massive quality-of-life adjustments to map navigation, camera zoom behaviors, and drag selection features. These fixes significantly improve the precision, responsiveness, and feel of unit interactions. Here is a summary of the improvements:
Dynamic Screen Footprint: Replaced the legacy zoom curve with a proportional screen-size formula. Markers now scale beautifully with camera distance to preserve a constant apparent size across standard play heights.
Zoom Growth Cap & Smart Fading: Added a ZoomMaxMultiplier limit (capped at 2.0x zoom size) to keep markers from bloating at country levels, and a ZoomHideHeight threshold (50) to cleanly fade them out when viewing the global/continent map.
Legibility Highlights: Adjusted IconToBgRatio on all stacks, providing a visibly thicker country-colored border ring around unit icons to highlight ownership at a glance.
Air Wing Pick Alignment: Corrected a 3D Z-offset calculation error on Air Wing markers. Their selection hitboxes now match their exact screen-rendered position on the map.
Air Wing Context Menu Position: Remapped screen coordinates to UI panel space. The unit right-click menu now opens at the exact mouse coordinate instead of rendering in a vertically mirrored position.
Same-Type Stack Cycling: Clicking stacks now cycles through them starting from your currently selected unit, rather than always resetting back to index 0.
Cross-Type Stacking Cycling: Implemented a new dual cyclic state tracker for mixed army/fleet/air-wing stacks using province-based and position-based cycle timeouts.
Pick-Race Elimination: Solved a race condition where direct unit clicking and province selection callback logic resolved the same click twice, preventing select glitches.
Drag-Selection over Sea: Input bridge drag tracking will now activate even when starting a box-select over sea provinces that overlap UI boundaries.
Empty Province Deselect: Clicking on open sea or an empty land province now correctly clears active unit selections and dismisses the province detail panel cleanly.
