Release Update, Playtest, and Deckbuilder Fest

Hello Looplers!

Long time no speak everyone!I've been hard at work behind the scenes refining and tweaking the game into a state that I would feel proud to have people play.

Demo Results So Far

I thought it would be nice to update you on the results from the demo as it's been a bit since the Next Fest and the "Next Steps" post.

  • Wishlists are just shy of 50,000

  • 90,000 unique players

  • 100,000 demo units

  • 200,000 hours played

Thank you to everyone who checked out the game during this time and wishlisted it.

This response has exceeded expectations and I am so incredibly grateful!

Deckbuilder Fest

Let's get into the meat of this post to update you a bit on what is happening. As of the 4th of May (the force is strong with this one) 2026 the Steam Deckbuilder Fest is live and The Loopler is a part of it.

The fest lasts from the 4th of May to the 11th of May. Get in there and do some loops.

Release Delay

Also in other news I have unfortunately come to the conclusion that the release timing for the game will unfortunately not happen in Q2. I know this sucks to hear and I'm very sorry about having to move the release window. I feel like the game needs a couple more months of iteration and tweaking to truly be something great.

So with that I will be updating the release date to say Q3 instead, I am hopeful for an early Q3 release but I cannot promise that unfortunately. Game development always takes a slight bit longer than intended.

I hope this doesn't upset the people who are super excited for the game too much, I just want to provide everyone with a very good and fun experience.

Playtest

With that bit of sad news being laid on the table, I didn't want to just leave it at that and then dash off into my cave to continue working on the game and leave the masses empty handed.

So as of right now the signup for the playtest of The Loopler is live on the Steam page. This is a closed signup so you will not get access immediately to the playtest, but I will instead let people in batch by batch. If you want to test the next version of the game and give some of your thoughts on it, that would be much appreciated and really help me tweak what I have so far and hopefully make a great game in the end.

Some of the changes are (but not limited to):

  • New overhauled round select

  • Garage Car Part System

  • More events

  • More cards

  • More charms

  • Balance adjustments

  • Starting rewards

Note that anything can change with feedback so if you like something or don't like something please tell me in the discord.

Final Notes

All that said, I hope not too many people are disappointed and are still looking forward to the release when it comes in the future. I'm only a solo developer working on this game in my free time away from my job but I'm committed to see it through and deliver a good experience.

Take care everyone!

Cheers,
Mheep
