Ahoy mateys!

We wanted to give you a quick update on what's going on at Lavaboots Studios and what you can expect for the next update for Salt 2. Our current goal is to have the next patch hit the beta branch within the next couple of months. In addition to the new content coming, we are also working hard on a Playstation 5 port for Salt 2. While it's a bit early and hard to say exactly if/when this will be released, we do have a build up and running on the dev kit and are hopeful to have Salt 2 released on the Playstation in the near future.

As you may know we are a small team of only two members and as such this console port is dividing our time between updates for Salt 2 and support for the PS5. Nevertheless, we are working hard on new content for Salt coming soon and have more updates planned for the future.

For the next update, the main focus will be a set of new unique hand-crafted islands for you to explore along with new quests, loot, and lore. These islands can only be found at least 20 units past the starting area. A common point of feedback we often hear is that you'd like to see more variety in content as you get further along in the game and this an attempt to address that. These new islands are hand-crafted and will feature unique little mini-stories, unique loot, and some new quests. In addition to the new islands we are also adding other new features, accessibility options, balancing changes, and bug fixes.

We will have more info on the next update's release date soon!

We wanted to give you a quick overview on what we've been working on and what you can expect for the next update.
