⛏ As part of improving visuals, we’ve reworked the world’s tile blocks — now resources are much easier to distinguish from one another.
We’ve also added plant animations: they now react to the wind and shake when the character chops them down.
⛏ New underground creatures — Crawlers — have been added to the game, complete with movement and attack animations.
For flying creatures — the Piercers — we’ve added a new behavior: if they miss their attack, they get their spear stuck in the ground and struggle to pull it out, becoming especially vulnerable.
⛏ Jumpers (Springlings) now have new variations: a more dangerous spiked version, as well as age (size) variants with subtle visual differences.
⛏ We are also continuing to fine-tune the balance to ensure that stronger enemies don’t appear too early in the game.
⛏ On one of the updated screenshots, you can see the nearly final version of the Technology Tree interface.
The tech tree system is one of the unique features of Terra Trials. The upper part of the window displays the selected technology with its description, unlocked recipes, required resources, and research time. Below is the structure of dependencies, and on the left — the list of technologies currently available for research based on player progress.
⛏ Another screenshot showcases the crafting interface at workstations — including the list of researched and locked recipes, filters, and the crafting queue controls.
⛏ We are paying extra attention to interface clarity: detailed tooltip descriptions, explanations, and hotkey hints.
In the near future we plan to add:
⛏ construction using stone and wooden blocks with different durability;
⛏ improved character traversal using platforms and ropes;
⛏ new neutral and aggressive creatures;
⛏ a friendly NPC system — including room assignments, interaction, and trading;
⛏ further expansion of the technology tree.
Since the concept of the game follows a reality-show format, we’re developing a viewer/subscriber reaction system, donations for entertaining actions, and the ability to spend those donations on decorative items and gameplay boosts.
