Olá.

I’m Astra, the brand-new community manager at Studio Ellipsis, which means I’m the person you’ll see popping up in videos, (soon) replying to Discord threads, and generally trying to make sure the conversation around our Project is as welcoming, weird, and as worth your time as possible.

It’s literally my first week, so if I sound like I’m still coming up to speed, that’s because I spent five minutes looking for instant coffee this morning only to realize there was an espresso machine. I’m back to Lisbon after a few years away. The team and the city have been more than welcoming.

It’s the perfect place to start a project that asks what’s old and what’s new and that’s, as we’ll see in the days ahead, exactly what we’re building here.

Below you’ll see the first episode of our Weird Wednesdays dev diaries.

Over the coming weeks, we’ll show you who the people at Studio Ellipsis are. Games are made by rooms full of humans who bring their histories and artistry and wonderful weirdness to the work. If I do my job right, you’ll meet a team of real people, and not a set of resumés. If you’re on Discord, come say hello. Tell me what episode you watch to the end and which ones you abandon at 45-seconds. If you’re a lurker, lurk with pride; if you’re a talker, bring a sense of humor and maybe some snacks. Thanks, truly, for reading and for giving me a few minutes of your day.

First weeks are a swirl of names and passwords, but just being able to get a few words out to you makes this feel less like a vortex and more like a lift off.

See you soon on the server!

Community4 Aug 2026Grimrunner Tales - SentinelWe admit, we are rather fascinated by humankind. In all your tedium and mundanity, no two lives are ever quite the same. Perhaps you are destined for greatness. Perhaps cursed by mediocrity. Either way, you are inevitably tossed about by the hands of fate. And you are so very fun to watch. Jordan “Hawk” N’kosi is a particularly entertaining example. It makes sense, we suppose. You don’t become…Community21 Jul 2026Grimrunner Tales - Human RitesEvery Grimrunner has their own reasons for walking into the dark. Some are simply here for coin. Vulgar, we know, but refreshingly honest. Others chase power, revenge, redemption, knowledge… Any number of darling little delusions, really. Such noble words to justify obsession. But that’s what makes it so charming, isn’t it? For every Grimrunner, there is a tale of woe. And no two lives are ruin…Community7 Jul 2026Grimrunner Tales - The Hayashi CaseLet us take a moment to appreciate the exquisite arrogance of the waking mind. All those sturdy little thoughts and sensible memories. All those charming little lies you tell yourself so your ego doesn’t wither. Adorable, really. Small wonder the Nameless have taken an interest. They come from beyond the outermost door, from that grand dark cradle where worlds are dreamt and devoured. Lesser of…
