Welcome to Brightfall

If you’re reading this, my condolences.

They said the Plague had passed, aye. Streets in London full of cheering fools and half-buried corpses. Then they put chains on the likes of us and muttered we were bound for “a safer shore”.

Well. That was a bloody lie.

The crew wouldna name the place. On the charts it’s naught but blank sea, and yet I heard them in the dark, whispering like bairns telling ghost tales. “The Condemned Isle.” One spat every time he said it. Ran dry quick.

When the storm hit, I thought we’d be spared the rest by drowning. No such luck. We dragged ourselves onto the shore, half-dead and frozen, and there was never any question - we built a fire, or we wouldn’t see another hour.

At the edge of that light, the trees seemed to twist, and the birdsong simply… stopped. One by one, the others stepped too far into the dark. Some came back wrong. Most never did.

This rock they whisper of as Brightfall makes dying in London look like mercy. I’ve seen precious little bright about it, that’s for sure.

Remember this: a torch buys you a minute of sanity. The darkness is patient. It’s always waiting. Never let the flame—

(The sentence ends in a long ink scratch, as if the writer’s hand was yanked away. The bottom of the page is torn off.)

Hello from Toruń, Wanderers of the Dark.

Over the past months, we’ve been quietly working on something new. Today, we can finally talk about it.

Brightfall is a co-op open-world survival-craft roguelite for 1–4 players, set on a cursed 17th-century island erased from English maps. Build, craft, and push back the living darkness before it swallows the world.

What to expect in Brightfall?

At its core, Brightfall is about three things:

  • Light is your most precious resource - it keeps the darkness at bay. Every torch buys you a minute of sanity and carves a small circle in the gloom, pushing corruption back one step at a time.

  • Survival for 1 up to 4 players. You start almost naked, scrape together shelter and tools, and slowly grow a safe haven in the gloom. Face the challenges alone, guided by a flicker of ancient will, or with friends who will absolutely argue about who forgot the tinder again.

  • Runs that reshape the island. Each expedition into the darkness is a challenge. You push further, fight stronger horrors, drag back new resources and knowledge to expand your skills and base. When you fail, the island changes shape - but your progress lets you go a little further next time.

What’s coming next:

This is just the first step. In the coming months, we’re planning to share:

  • Devlogs on how the darkness reshapes the world, how base building and resets work, and how sanity and Shadows fit into the loop.

  • Lore about Celtic spirits, plague myths, and the Isle the Crown pretends doesn’t exist.

  • Studio updates from Toruń - how’s our team doing, what we are working on, and the occasional cursed work-in-progress.

  • And last but not least: playtests! so you can try Brightfall and help us break it in interesting ways.

We want this page to feel like a journal of the island slowly coming to life, with your footprints all over it. That’s because…

We want to build this island with you!

Brightfall is not just our world - we want your fingerprints on it. Tell us what you’d like to see:

  • your favourite mechanics and games in the genre

  • horrors you’d love (or hate) to meet in the dark

  • stories and quests you want this place to tell

The Steam discussions and our Discord will be where you can throw ideas into the fire and see which ones catch.

Who are we?

We’re Dark Point Games, a small studio from Toruń with a soft spot for old myths and far too many fantasy books on our desks. We made Achilles: Legends Untold and Achilles: Survivor - and yes, we argue every day about whether Toruń or Bydgoszcz is better.

We’ve always built our worlds with our community, and Brightfall is no exception.

🤝 Come join us!

If building a haven in a world where the darkness keeps trying to swallow you whole sounds like your kind of nightmare, we’d be incredibly grateful if you add Brightfall to your wishlist, or join our Discord.

Thank you for walking into the dark with us.
~Dark Point Games Team
