Hello Armored Brigade II fans. We are well and truly back from our Christmas break and hard at work preparing for the Q1 Steam release.
In the meantime - to make sure Steam users have a little something to do while waiting - we have some extra content for you today. Over on the Matrix Games website we have an Armory article up all about the Chieftain MBT featured in Armored Brigade II. The Armory is a monthly editorial article we put out about all the neat weapon systems or concepts featured in our games, and their historical role in real life.
The slow speed of the Centurion makes controlling road networks extra important
The Chieftain is a kind of strange MBT. It has a 120mm gun, (in the 1960's no less) extremely thick steel armor, and a multi-fuel engine that came with a host of problems that plagued the tank well into the 1990's.
It's a mix of old and new concepts wrapped together in a single vehicle that's slow as molasses, but can take and dish out punishment better than most other NATO vehicles.
The thick armor of the Centurion gives it some pretty terrific endurance
